Love the bright shiny chrome finish---too many years with light killing Black appliances!
Love the rack pull out on the bottom. I would love to have that on the top rail as well.
Temperatures seemed low at first, but now seems like it is more normal...is this usual in a new device?
Not Like--Print of designated actions & Temps Is way too small...especially for seniors. Double the current font size would be perfect!.
Very much NOT like the Timer Knob! The tiny shiny 'button' designating the Toast choices...Very difficult to get the Light Toast color Each time. (Had several 'burnt' in the beginning!
That small tiny 'button' on the timer knob is nearly Useless!---Very very difficult to see. It would be perfect with a Large Bold Arrow!. Same with the Other knobs as well. I used a piece of bright green masking tape!
I did my own 'rescue' there, but would love to get 3 new knobs with the Large arrow on each. I
Also had to place a wide rubber band on knob to get enough grip to turn as needed....... a 'wing' on the 3 knobs with a large arrow would solve both the designation & grip.

- Reviewed in Canada on August 21, 2023Verified PurchaseIt should have been a great experience, I love the brand for my coffee maker! Plus this had a better warranty than the others I looked at.
The first reason I decided to return it was because I found it to have too much abstract thinking to make it work and fiddle around with learning. Also, the book that came with it had different symbols for the model I had so that didn't help.
After I had heated up frozen egg-rolls on the rack [over the main tray], this is what it looked like! I soaked it in hot soapy water in the sink for a time before scrubbing it the best I could. I thought I may as well put it through the dishwasher after that to see if there was some kind of cleaning magic that could happen. There was not! This is clearly how the tray was going to look for the life time of ownership, and worse with continued use. I went back to Team Air-Fryer and won't touch a toaster oven again.

- Reviewed in Canada on August 18, 2022Verified PurchaseI was looking for a simple oven, mainly for toasting and grilling. The instructions are very explicit and remind the user of dangerous aspects what not to do, i.e. don't use foil to line the roasting pan, don't use Brillo pads to clean, don't use plastic containers, only glass or metal.
But I have several problems: It took me 3 tries before I was able to do a proper toast. The illustration shows to put the toast on the lower shelf. You burn the underside for sure. Read the instructions where it tells you to use the middle rack position. Use the lower position strictly for baking bread, casseroles, chicken pieces etc. The Knob indicators are too fat to make them point accurately to the position desired. The timer knob is quite hard to move to the desired position. Use the lightest setting - bottom line of light toast image - in order not to burn the toast. Don't use 450 degrees setting - the top and underneath is brown, but the middle stays soggy and untoasted; use only 400 degrees for toasting. I have not baked anything, but I bet 450 degrees is too hot also. The outside - because it is metal - becomes quite hot to the touch. It should have been covered with an outside surface that absorbs the heat and stays at least only warm to the touch. I did not want to spend a lot of money, so I took the 'cheapest' model.
- Reviewed in Canada on December 17, 2021Verified PurchaseOverall great toaster oven that does what it's supposed to do.
Compared to others in this size range, it isn't bulky as to limit size on the countertop.
Its elegant and performant and it heats up very fast.
The cooking space is very acceptable (specifics = 12" x 11" cookware, 12" x 12" pizza)
Cooking time is as usual in toaster oven standards, not slower, not faster.
Prior to this one, I was using a Hamilton Beach ( yes indeed !) 31134C that I'd bought back in 2010.
I never had an issue whatsovere and it's still working great, the only reason I bought this one here is because of the cooking capacity, needed more cooking surface.
Hamilton Beach proves again to deliver great products within this price range of toaster ovens.
IMO, you really can't go wrong with this one and I recommend it ALL THE WAY!

- Reviewed in Canada on June 2, 2022Verified PurchaseI had another Beach Hamilton before this one and it was superior but it finally died after maybe 10 years.
This one has a set of very annoying hooks for the oven position and you need to fiddle with them every time you change the grill position to toast. Not a good design if you use your oven and toaster function everyday.
Hamilton Beach, please get rid of these useless hooks that attach to the grill.
It’s all stainless steel and documentation were taped to it, on the front glass and top of the unit. The pieces of tape have left marks that won’t go away after cleaning it.
The writing next to the controls are tiny and black so it’s not ideal when you try to read, it’s not very legible. Also be careful not to burn your finger while rotating the dials, the front gets very hot.
Also the black plastic dials/controls are somewhat slippery, not enough grip. My previous unit did not have any of these flaws, the rotating dials had pronounced grooves making it easy to rotate, front plate had a plastic cover so it was not as hot as this one and the writing was white on black, much easier to read than black on stainless steel.
The grill on this new unit is not as sturdy as the previous one, also despite being a 6 slices it’s half an inch shorter. The door does not have a retention spring so be careful not to let it drop on the counter when you open it.
As for the toaster and the oven functions, it’s working good, as it should. Overall it’s a decent product but could be improved in many ways.
