I bought a USB-C trigger module and programmed it to output 20V, 5A. However, I needed more amps to heat 18AWG Nichrome wire to 300C.
This buck converter took the input of 20V, 5A (Measured with a Fluke 117 Multimeter) and outputted 5V, 12A consistently (also measured with the same multimeter).

I tweaked it later on to output 5V, 8A which is more than enough for my application. It works flawlessly.

A bit on the pricey side, but it is flawless.

This is a great little device whether you're running it on the bench or fitting it in a project box. It is easy to assemble and looks and feels good too. Fitment of the heatsink is recommended. The simple controls and easy to read display indicating input and output voltages as well as current draw are helpful as well.

I ordered two of these and using my benchtop power supply and a volt meter I did find that the output voltage was 0.02 volts lower than what was indicated on the converters display but for the price and the equipment I'm powering off it I am not complaining.

If I were to have issues it would only be that one of the displays I had was scratched by one of the screws during shipping and that having either a display brightness controller or an option to turn the display off would be welcome. Also be careful about how tight the screws are when assembling as the clear plastic protectors can crack in the corners. Theses really are just super minor things that doesn't really take away from the operation of the device.

It would be better if it's in a good close casing to prevent dust from accumulating which might cause short circuiting. I used it for my HHO generator.

I have had this for a very long time and you can shut off the backlight, it uses a little more amps but seem to maintain the voltage i need to be coming out at all times.

The seller sent a product that's similar but not the same as the listing.
It did not have any current control.
So it's only CV not CC. Which kind of defeated the whole purpose of buying it as there are several voltage adjustable modules for much cheaper price. Its adjusting the current output which makes this different from other modules.
Ended up returning the same minute. A total waste of time. Watch out before buying this.
Also, the voltage adjustment was not through trimpot (potentiometer), it was through +/- buttons, which again is not as listed.
