top tier, temperature stable sweetener that dissolves easily and doesn't have an aftertaste
LECTURE: most North Americans DRINK THEIR EXCESS CALORIES. Sugar is cheap, thanks to subsidies on manufacturing it, so it's used in EVERYTHING. Non-caloric sweeteners have been proven safe so there's little reason to add sugar to your tea or lemonade when you could be using something that won't add to your waistline. I've been using Splenda packets in my coffee and lemon/lime-ade for a while now but the paper packets can be messy and inconvenient when mixing larger amounts so I gave this stuff a shot and it's EXCELLENT. The product itself is somewhat "fluffy" - instead of granulated Splenda like you find in packets, this variety has larger, lighter, THINNER flakes that dissolve almost instantly in liquids. (hot: instant. cold: requires a stir or shake, or just time) I've taken to leaving a small plastic measuring spoon next to the bag in the cupboard and when I'm mixing up a drink I'll scoop out a bit. If I had any criticism it's that the flakes can get messy - static electricity from the plastic bag makes them "stick" a bit and they can clog the zip-lock on the bag. No biggie. NOTE: it takes MORE of these "flakes" to sweeten as much as packets because it is lower density. If you're mixing 500mL (half a litre) or more, a 1/3 cup measuring spoon might be more appropriate than a table spoon for measuring it) Top marks - this is a staple in my drink cupboard.
