WARNING:
Product description
Splendor is a fast, elegant, and intuitive game in which two to four players compete to build Renaissance Europe’s most lucrative and prestigious jewelry business. You begin by collecting raw gems and use those to fund the development of mines throughout the world. Once you’ve mined more gemstones, you must acquire the means to transport them, artisans to shape them, and finally a storefront where you can sell your polished jewels. If you produce exactly the right jewelry, a powerful noble may become your patron, but even then they won’t just hand you victory: the player whose business earns the most prestige wins. Deceptively easy to learn, splendor involves quick strategic thinking and produces intense interpersonal competition!

From the manufacturer

The European Renaissance opened up more ways of becoming rich than the continent had ever known before.
Global trade routes became a reality. Nobles, once content with large castles and fur robes, now seek dark sapphires and glittering diamonds.
Experience the riches of this era in Splendor, a fast, elegant, and intuitive game in which players vie for control of gem mines, trade routes, and storefronts to master the gem trade and attract the attention of nobles.
Become the most influential and rich merchant at the jewelry market by optimizing your trading strategy. In this competitive world your strategy must be flawless if you intend to win, by collecting the most prestige points!
Priceless gems, exotic places, and noble patrons!
Splendor’s elegantly simple gameplay is supported by beautiful components.
Players begin the game by collecting gem tokens. If you manage to produce just the right jewels, a noble patron, perhaps even King Henry VIII or Queen Isabella of Spain, will take you under their wing.
With simple rules and streamlined set collection mechanics, Splendor is an excellent game for younger or less experienced gamers.
A simple but unique economy makes Splendor easy to learn, but offers a challenging puzzle every time.

- Reviewed in Canada on August 29, 2024Verified PurchaseMy husband and I love this game. The game components are high-quality. The directions are well written. The gameplay is exciting. You can play a game in about half an hour. Trust me, though, you won’t want to just play one game. It combines a bit of luck with a whole lot of strategy. Every game is different and it has the right amount of challenging aspects to make you want to go back and play the game again. We are new to gaming and currently we must have at least a dozen games we’ve purchased and haven’t played yet because we keep going back to these addictive games like Splendor and Azul. Buy this game. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
- Reviewed in Canada on December 20, 2024Verified PurchaseThis game is easy to learn and play. You buy resources and use the resources to buy things. You earn victory points in order to win the game. The gem stone tokens and nice - kind of like a poker chip. If you are looking for a family game good for 8-99 year olds this is a good one to try out - We love it!
- Reviewed in Canada on August 17, 2024Verified PurchaseWould recommend this any opportunity given, quick and easy card game that takes no more than 30 minutes unless you make it take longer. The rules take a bit sometimes to get used to but besides that my friends and I love this game and have each gotten a copy to have. The tokens are also weighted so they don't feel like cheap pieces of plastic. Definitely worth the buy.

- Reviewed in Canada on July 15, 2024Verified PurchaseThis is a great 2 to 4 player game. It sets up quickly, it's very easy to learn and takes about 1/2 hour to play. Every new game requires strategy and presents new challenges. I love this game.
- Reviewed in Canada on July 10, 2024Verified PurchaseThis is a good game and we have all enjoyed playing it. At first you have to focus on just buying cheap cards then you can shift that focus to buying better cards with more victory points. The fun of the game is when do you make the decision to shift that focus. New players figure out how it works in their first time playing but advanced players still can still prioritize strategy after lots of experience. Can be played in games of 2, 3 or 4 players.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 27, 2024Verified PurchaseIt came damaged but they sent me a new one that was just fine. I got this as a gift to my husband who likes games. This game is really fun and not too overwhelming to learn. My one nephew is 5 and he was able to learn it pretty quickly. Playing with just two people is just as fun. I would recommend!
- Reviewed in Canada on October 2, 2024Verified PurchaseWe love this game. It sounds more complicated than it really is and when we play with others it only takes one match to properly introduce it.
