Product Description

5v

Featuring advanced aerodynamic design measures such as Flow Acceleration Channels and Noctua’s AAO frame, the NF-A6x25 5V is a dedicated 5V version of Noctua’s highly optimised, premium-quality quiet 60x25mm fan. Smooth Commutation Drive technology and Noctua’s reference-class SSO2 bearing assures superb running smoothness and excellent long-term stability. Topped off with modular cabling and the OmniJoin Adaptor Set, the NF-A6x25 5V is a premium choice for demanding 5V applications.

a6x25

5V version

Many devices, such as network or storage solutions, use 5 volt 60mm fans. With the same operating voltage and the included OmniJoin adaptor set that makes it compatible with proprietary fan headers, the NF-A6x25 5V is ideal for replacing noisy or broken 5V 60mm fans.

Please Note: Being a 5V fan, the NF-A6x25 5V cannot be run at 12V and will be damaged when used with typical 12V power sources such as PC motherboard fan headers.

hub

Reduced motor hub sizes

Thanks to its streamlined, compact motor design, the NF-A6x25's motor hub is smaller than with conventional 6cm fans. This allows for more blade surface area and thus contributes to the NF-A6x25's superior airflow and pressure performance.

sso2

SSO2 Bearing

The NF-A6x25 features the further optimised second generation of Noctua's renowned, time-tested SSO bearing. With SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the axis to provide even better stabilisation, precision and durability.

fac

Flow Acceleration Channels

The NF-A6x25 impeller features suction side Flow Acceleration Channels. By speeding up the airflow at the crucial outer blade regions, this measure reduces suction side flow separation and thus leads to better efficiency and lower vortex noise.

5v

Scope of Delivery

  • OmniJoin Adaptor Set
  • 30cm extension cable
  • 4 anti-vibration mounts
  • 4 fan screws

a6

AAO frame

Noctua's AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frames feature integrated anti-vibration pads as well as Noctua's proprietary Stepped Inlet Design and Inner Surface Microstructures, both of which further refine the fan's performance/noise efficiency.

For Raspberry Pi 4, the 12v is quieter

For Raspberry Pi 4, the 12v is quieter
This is my 2nd 60mm Noctua Fan for my Raspberry Pi 4. I got a 12v and now I tried this 5v version. Using the 12v fan on 5v power is much quieter than using the 5v fan on 5v power. Maybe I’m stating the obvious. I much prefer the 12v fan as it was almost silent. I removed the 3 wires, rearranged the red and black to suit the Rpi4 and trimmed the two plastic tabs on the molex connector that were bumping into the Rpi 4 GPIO pins. I folded back the yellow wire and taped it to the cable sheath.

Really quiet, 4 stars because it blows less air than expected, However if it satisfies the cooling requirement as it does in my project of converting a fiber optic X-mas tree from 12volts to almost all 110 volt except for the 5 volt fan it is excellent, packaging is above average and likely contributes to the price. No complaints, 鶹 had it at my door step in 1 day all good. Just to be clear, I actually purchased a fan that ran on 110 volts, after running it for a week, it began to make more noise than it should have and it was not because it was blowing more air, I believe the bearing /s are not lasting as they should. I will be contacting 鶹 to see if it is warranted and returnable.

Noctua is a high quality fan and worth the extra cost to protect precious components. The best packaging and included accessories of any fan. All materials are top notch and fit and finish is perfect. Fans and well engineered for optimal air flow with minimum noise. Perfect for low noise operations like a desktop computer, home theatre PC or for what i use this for - helmet cooling. i connect this to a 5 volt USB power pack and install this in my helmet. The airflow is good and its nice and quiet so i can hear outside noises. Highly recommended.

Bought this to replace the fan in my PS2 fat. Which sends 7 volts to the fan when a network adapter and HDD are installed, so I made a voltage divider to bring it down to 5v. Works great and keeps the console cool with almost no noise. Though I don’t mind the color, I only wish it would come in black to match the console, but I guess it doesn’t really matter since it’s in the back and no one will ever see it.

This fan works great to add cooling to my Valve Index VR headset. I used the bare wire adapter to add a USB plug to it (even comes with no solder wire clips), 3D printed a bracket and fan guard, and just used the anti vibration attachments to hook it to the bracket.

Make sure you put a fan guard to protect the blades from your battles!
