Not very Sturdy or strong. Disappointed with the money I spent. When it's windy this falls into the corner of the pool even with the brakes on. Had to pull it out many times. My husband had to put weights on it and add Bull Dog tape because the Velcro tape peeled off half way through the summer. Very light weight. Straps have broken off, we duck taped them back on. Spend your money on something better.

    This has to be the best reel I have purchased. I got it this summer, so i will see how it winters here, but it is the lightest reel I have ever owned - and it is my fourth. I does not require any screws to open opportunity for oxidization, and it has an unusual number to ties - i.e., eight instead of four. It is perhaps because of this that one person can wind up and unwind the solar cover alone. It is nice to have someone else, but not really necessary with this reel. It was delivered in the time-frame projected, and was in great shape. And, as a final point, it was easy to assemble. Nice product, and nice service.

    For shipping, this roller comes in sections. It's easy to assemble, but the extruded profiles have such a sloppy fit that the sections rattle around inside each other, strip the puny screws provided to hold the sections together, and the roller bends and falls apart quickly. Even after trying several methods to hold the sections together, this has fallen apart several times.

    It's really a shame, because with just a little more attention to the dimensions of the extruded parts this could have been a fine product.

    Purchased this roller for my pool, it was just bit enough to be used on my 16 foot pool. I had to install extra screws to hold the pieces together though and it was pretty flimsy with only the attached screws. It was easy to put on the straps and they hold the cover well. It rolls easy which makes putting the cover on and off a breeze. Over time the lock screw is wearing so doesn’t tighten as well, it’s also starting to sag in the middle. Make sure that you buy the correct size for your pool and don’t try to buy outside of the recommendations made for the product. It has worked well for 2 seasons but I don’t think it will work for many more unfortunately.
