I am using this in my reptile enclosure, and it works great!! The first week it started to not flow as well and after messing around with the filter and the unit I realized there was a sponge at the top to filter debris! After a good rinse it was running smoothly again. I got this fountain specifically for the way it is sealed at the back. No big debris can get in unless it goes into the hole the water flows through at the bottom pond. As long as you keep that sponge clean it works amazing. I took it out a bit for the photos but it sits inside the top "boulder".

    I have been using it for almost 4 months now. It's extremely easy to setup and adds life to my corner space.
    For cleaning purposes, you can use a round brush and warm water to cleanse the water outlets.
    Adding extra water is also very easy.

    JUNK I use this at the lowest water flow adjustment. Worked fine for the first few weeks. Then, as particles of light brown paint dissolved from the insides of the four "bowls" it began to plug up the "sponge" they had stuffed into the top outlet to lame attempt to control the POORLY DESIGNED water flow, everything changed! The 3 top cascades of water began to run down the walls of the bowls instead of falling into the little pools. End of cascading water. And since paint the has washed off, the overall appearance of the fountain is diminished. And no more pretty tiers of cascading water. Now I'm waiting for the dissolved paint particles to plug the pump, ending everything. I'm now past the return period, so I GUESS I'M STUCK WITH THIS PIECE OF EXPENSIVE JUNK.

    I am using this in the corner of a frog terrarium with distilled purified water and the little froggos love it! (I used little pieces of red shrink tubing to cover the white LEDs, making them dimmer so they don't hurt the frog's eyes at night.) I do have to take the whole fountain out if the terrarium periodically and clean it, including the little sponge filter inside the pump itself, which opens and cleans very easily. I was happy with how enclosed the fountain is, I didn't have to worry about plugging up any holes to keep critters out of the inner workings. The pump is silent but the water makes a faint 'trickle' sound that gets a little louder when the water needs refilling. I love this product so much I bought two of them.
