About Amish Country Popcorn

In 1965 in the "Amish Country" community of Berne, Indiana, Roy Lehman planted a small plot of popcorn for his six year old son, Brian.

Brian then began supplying his family with popcorn. He remembers carrying popcorn to school, and his sixth grade teacher was one of his most loyal customers.

When he finished high school, he wanted to stay on the family farm and continue to grow and sell popcorn.

Fifty years later, Brian is still in the popcorn business. The people who know Brian would tell you that he is known for the following two things: serving the Lord and selling popcorn.

I should have paid closer attention to other reviews…the kernels are super small = super small pops. Flavour ok, but feel underwhelmed & disappointed. Will not purchase again. We use “theatre” style popper to make.

I smothered it in butter and salt but honestly it tasted very good on its own. Being hulless was a bonus as I missed that when I ordered it. I saw it advertised on an Amish site and so I was excited to try it. It shipped quietly and arrived as advertised. I didn’t weigh the bag but assume that the full 6lbs is there. Would order again. It’s about 1/3 the size of normal popcorn!

    If you like Crunchy Yummy Popcorn this is it.
    It is smaller, but if popped properly it is the best.

    I stovetop pop 9 Tablespoons of Popcorn in 4 Tablespoons of Ghee.
    I let the Stainless Steel Pot heat up on the burner at 7 for about 3 minutes,
    then I drop 4 tablespoons of Ghee in the pot,
    wait 20 - 30 seconds and drop in kernels & pop.
    No need to add butter, just salt.

    We like to watch a movie and make popcorn once a week. When my sons got braces, I did found this lady finger hulless popcorn and its great. While no popcorn can be truly hulless, these are very small kernels and never caused any issues with their braces. If you aren't looking for something close to hullless, this is probably the wrong variety for you. And yes, it does take longer to eat, that can be good or bad depending on your view. I've been buying this for years now and my youngest still prefers it even after he got his braces removed. IMPORTANT: DO NOT USE AN AIR POPPER, it will blow right out. I use a whirly popper on my stove.
