The shredder broke on the 5th use when trying to shred some dry cheese. As near as I can figure a piece of cheese broke off and put pressure on the blade causing the middle plastic on the blade to shred against its square central post. The shredding blade is now useless as the center plastic has been ripped off the metal blade. The blending blade seems to be working ok.

When the unit did work I was able to shred some cheese (sort of - most of it balled up but I didnt care - it was for melting anyway). It sliced mushrooms pretty good and I liked the potato slices and the shredding of potato for hashbrowns.

Food does get stuck inside the food feeder closed piece which is not good as its really difficult to get out to clean.

Overall the unit is cheap and the quality sure shows it. I wouldn't recommend this.

1. the trigger mechanism overly complex, you have to insert a pusher into the chute for it to start, wasting time looking for the pusher even if you don't need it.
2. there is a hole in the chute where food can get into, getting stuck inside the handle. it took me several minutes to rinse out little bits of food that wouldnt come out, as well as using tweezers. that's too much work for something supposed to simplify cooking.

We LOVE this processor, the only thing I don't like is that the pusher HAS to be put in before it will turn on. Cucumbers, cheese, ect HAS to be cut into smaller chunks before it will turn on (unless it is small enough to fit inside the hole on the black pusher, and you can use the clear one to push in bigger things. We grate up full blocks of cheese at a time, so having to cut them into chunks instead of just shredding the whole block is a little inconvenient.
Has great power, stands up to lots of use and lots of shredding/cutting at a time.

I love this thing. I use it multiple times per week super easy to use and clean. I did a lot of research before landing on this one. Because of my health, I have to make everything from scratch, and because of a hand injury, I needed the pieces to be light. I use my elbows to lock the lid in place. Basically, it makes chopping and slicing and shredding possible for me without hurting me further. I’m gentle with the pieces and make sure none of the plastic breaks off because I know it’s part of the safety feature to run properly. Other than that, this thing is a beast and works great. The sound is a little loud, but I have earplugs I use.
