    The BACtrack Mobile Smartphone Breathalyzer does require a cellular phone to read the results, as the name suggests. If one wishes for more simplicity, one of their other models should be considered. The unit synchronized with the phone quickly and easily. Onscreen instructions guide the user through the process. Written instructions and advisories are concise. This particular unit (not the smallest, by the way) is quite compact, comes with a soft case, and easily will slip into a pocket or purse. It is attractive and sleek for easy handling. A few removable mouthpieces are provided should one not wish to blow directly into the port; this provides simplified cleaning, and multiple user options should one be a little squeamish about sharing the same mouthpiece. It is charged using the provided USB cable through a computer port. Results are fast, and do seem to indicate variations. I am unable to absolutely guarantee accuracy but the results to date make sense. A nice feature is the estimation of when the individual will be alcohol-free and good to drive. The only concern I had was finding that the manufacturer recommended returning the unit to its facilities for recalibration annually, which makes sense given the nature of the equipment and the importance of accuracy. A nice package that is affordable and provides some degree of peace of mind for those who imbibe. My son and his friends even used it as an impromptu party game. A quality product.

    This thing works perfectly! It's bang on. I use it as a pretester if I had a few drinks the night before to make sure my ignition lock out will let me start my car. It also insures that I have a perfect record for the monitoring system. I really like how it will calculate your "sober by" time. You will need to use it a few times to get a better understanding of what your own personal alcohol absorption rate is. I find I get sober a lot quicker than the predicted time. This is a must have if you have a ignition interlock system in your car, not to mention it's fun to pull out at parties!!!
    One word of advice though, if you want an accurate reading make sure you follow the instructions and rinse your mouth with water before you blow into it. If you have had a few and blow into it while drinking it will give you some off the chart readings. I've blown readings while drinking that should of had me in a coma!!! lol

    Love this!! It does what I need it to do which is to end arguments on whether or not someone is capable of driving. Observation of someone else’s behaviour can be very subjective and our own judgement on our abilities while impaired is well... impaired. This ends all that. When you come to my home you leave your keys in the drawer until you’ve blown legal. Makes for a lot more people staying over but better that than the alternative. Just order extra mouth pieces in the days of covid! Cheers!!!
