I live in Daytona Beach, Florida, and we get rain, as much as we get sun, actually, we get more sun than rain, but we get rained on the less. Anyway, I bought this because I had purchased a hot tub recently, and I noticed that my condominium that I purchased did not have a GFI, GCFI, grounded outlet outside. It just had a regular outlet which was an electrocution just waiting to happen. Very shocking. So I purchased this, from �鶹��, which was $10 cheaper than at Walmart, and like $25 cheaper than Home Depot, and this is an all in one set with the cover, the casing, and the outlet receptacle itself. It took less than 30 minutes to install, you just remove the old outlet, hook the wires up appropriately to the new outlet, secure it to the metal base, secure the metal base to the outside of your house or condo, and then put the plastic portion which covers the plug or adapter over it, and you're done. The plastic covering which protects from rain and the weather, can go on horizontally or vertically, so it opens either way, depending on what kind of plug you have. It fits my giant adapter that goes to my hot tub and I am very happy with it. Highly recommended and highly safe.
