Product Selection Tips:
The easiest way to select the proper pump for the job is to determine how many sprinkler heads and what size pipe is used. If 1/2" pipe is used, the formula is GPH at 30 PSI divided by 3. If 3/4" pipe is used, the formula is GPH at 30 PSI divided by 6. We have done the calculations for you and the information can be found in both the technical specifications and the pump comparison chart found on this page.
Installation Tips:
This pump is rated 4 out of 5 stars in level of difficulty (5 being most difficult). Electrical wiring is required along with precise measurements for cutting the piping. This pump is designed to work with a pump start relay and a timer (not included.) We strongly recommend hiring a sprinkler pump installer or contractor with sprinkler installation experience for this installation.
- This pump is DUAL VOLTAGE which means it will work with both 115 Volt and 230 Volt power sources. The voltage selection indicator on the pump MUST MATCH the power source. The pump comes PRE-SET for 230 Volt operation. To use the pump for 115 Volt installation, the voltage indicator on the pump must be changed to 115 Volts. Instructions for changing the voltage are in the Owner's Manual. A small motor cover is located on the back end of the pump's motor and must be removed with a screwdriver. For the 1 HP model, once the cover is removed, insert a flat head screwdriver in the voltage change indicator and rotated counter clockwise so it read 115 and replace the motor cover. (See Owner's Manual for illustration.)
- USE PTFE tape on all pipe thread and ensure the the suction and discharge lines are completely AIRTIGHT otherwise the pump will lose prime and will be extremely noisy (called cavitation).
- PRIME the pump! Remove the priming port plug at the top of the unit. Open the discharge valves on the discharge side of the pump. Fill the pump with water through the priming port. Allow trapped air to escape for a few minutes, then add more water until the pump and line is full. Replace the priming port plug and tighten with a wrench.
- A CHECK VALVE (not included) should be installed on the discharge line to keep the pump primed and a STRAINER should be used on the intake line to keep debris from entering the pump.
- Additional instructions, safety tips, and troubleshooting tips are found in the Owner's Manual.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good value pump
Verified PurchaseAfter 1 month I'm fairly happy with this pump, deducting 1 star because it can't produce more than ~36 PSI, datasheet said somewhere around 45 psi, so I had a heck of a time finding a pressure switch that would work. Currently on a 20/40 psi switch with the 40 adjusted as low as I could go. I believe I'm just on the border of the cutout, might get in some trouble someday if pump starts wearing out. I would recommend adding a start relay to one of these. But I'm seeing 30 psi on somewhere around 12 spray heads, with a 1.25" suction and 1" pressure line, which is pretty good in my book.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT DURABLE and I cannot return as per 鶹.
Verified PurchaseAfter only 4 months, the pump burned out. NOT DURABLE and I cannot return. Electrical was hooked up correctly, 230V, and all was in order. Not worth going on the cheap.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is an excellent pump for the money.
Verified PurchaseI had no issues setting this up in the garage, if anything it could use some isomode padding to keep the sound down. I got some and you have to be on top of it to know its on.
