    Bought these because a bear has been coming into our yard the last couple of weeks.. Last one was standing on the deck when we took the dog out at night.. He was checking out the BBQ.. So.. Bells on US, and Bells on the Poodle.. and the BBQ us moved from the house.. and so far. we have not seen the bear anywhere! Nice and loud.. the dog doesn't like the sound but he is getting used to it..

    Not thinking bears, but more giving warning to other critters that my pups are in the area so they can scurry, hide, climb, etc.
    Never us the silencer and learned that it is better to undo the collar to put on and off rather than use the velcro --- the velcro will wear out faster if you don't and once it gets loose will get tore off in the forest (yup, lost a few that way).
