GP76851 Mixer Cap and Pressure Balancing Unit (Shower) Parts Cartridge
Replacement for #GP500520 and GP77759 for 1/2" Shower Valve.
It controls pressure and regulates temperature to ensure a gracious shower experience.

Installation Troubleshooting Guide
For Leakage
1.O-ring is the key, must be replaced, and add lubricant, then firmly placed in the correct position.
2. Do not rotate the Cartridge, just put it in, otherwise the O-ring will shift and cause leakage.
3. Tighten the screws to fix the cap and the Cartridge.
For Valve Cannot be Shut Off
A. Remove the Mixer Cap. Use a tool to help turn the valve stem or collar, and check whether the two water outlets at the bottom of the Mixer Cap open/close normally.
B. If the mixer cap is open/close normal, please check whether the collar is reset after adjusting the temperature limit, and check whether the shower handle is installed correctly.

NOTE: Please read the packaging instructions carefully before installation. If you encounter any problems with the installation, we will help you.

I recommend that the manufacturer includes a small capsule of silicone grease in the package so that people don't have to buy it separately.     Item Description: Hot/Cold water mixer that fits inside/behind the Kohler brand shower handles.

    Pros: The previous replacement, which was a Kohler genuine part, had failed. This worked nicely & was a relatively easy replacement.

    Cons: the 2 smaller O-rings that fit against the furthest most inside point, were too loose & fell off easily. Add some vaseline or lubricant to keep them in place. Problem solved! It also comes with a bunch of other O-rings that did not seem necessary but had me 2nd-guesting myself that I might have left something out. The instructions were not super clear. BUT alas.. no water leaking. Keep in mind that this is a medium-skill level repair. I am not a plumber BUT if you watch a YouTube video & have the right tools, you can do it.

    Suggestions to manufacture: none

    Would I buy again or as a gift? Yes.. if this one fails, I will order again.

    Did I receive anything for this review? NO! I paid full price for this item.
