How to Use:

Help you quickly become a gardening expert!

Step1.Clean the probe, Switch to moisture/pH/light position according to demand.
Step2.Insert the probe into the soil about 2-4 inches.
Step3.No need to wait, plug and play.Moisture/pH/lightness can be checked immediately on the dial.
Step4.Remove probe from soil and wipe clean after each use.

Watering Guide Notes:
1.The ranges listed in the plant watering guide indicate that if the meter reads above the listed range, it is too early to water your plants.
2.If the meter reads the same or lower than the listed range, the plant needs watering.

Functions

Test the soil moisture

Moisture Range: 1-10 (1-3 DRY, 4-7 NOR, 8-10 WET)
If the soil is too dry, please use the soil sensor after moderate watering before measurement.

Test the pH of the soil

pH Range: 3.5-8 pH (3.5-6.5 ACID, 7 NOR, 7-8 ALKALI).
Designed for soil and cannot directly measure liquids.
Since soil most often is in/close to a neutral state (with a pH value of 7), it is highly likely that you find the needle in the display window stay still (because the default pH value is set at somewhere between 7 and 8) when you use it to test the pH value of soil. In this case, the soil ph meter is working properly.

Test the light intensity

Relative Light: 0-2000 lux (0-200 LOW, 200-500LOW+, 500-1000 NOR 1000-2000 HGH).
To help you know if the light intensity around the plant is sufficient, please do not cover the light sensor during the test.

I purchased this device to determine moisture content in my garden beds and patio planters for a more quantitative determination of watering needs. The good: It is quick and easy to use; it helps avoid over or under watering, and does not require batteries. I like having the analog meter readout which gives me a better feel for the range of moisture levels rather than a digital readout of wet or dry. Light intensity and pH measurements are also available, selected using a switch. I don't find these particularly necessary and rarely use them, though it is handy to have the ability to check soil pH; again levels are read out using the analog meter. A caution: If the soil is hard, it can be difficult to insert the probes and if too much force is used, I suspect the housing, which feels a bit flimsy, could be damaged or the probes bent, so in my view it needs to be used carefully under these conditions. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to others. I might pick up a backup or two, as they are not expensive.

This product is great, especially for those of us who do not possess a green thumb. 2 years ago I purchased my 1st poinsiettia house plant. It's been a real trial knowing whether it had the proper amount of water, light, & ph level. At times I knew my assumptions were incorrect as right away leaves would yellow and fall off, indicating stress. Even when you finally mastered the appropriate amount then seasons change. Winters cause homes to be dry because heat is on and windows closed, plus amount of daylight less. Summers present temps that are high along with more daylight and sun. My brother purchased one of these and advised me to purchase too. WALLAH! Now I can measure these levels and protect my beloved plant! I cannot attest to how long this instrument will continue to give the correct measurement as I only recently purchased it. I will say that it is very easy to read and use without having to play or toggle with buttons and that it seems to be very accurate.
