Great consistancy. I threw it in a tote with some pre mixed water + nutrients and put it in my garden. I've been throwing Pro Mix in there past 5 years, figured I'd add some more absorption due to all the "global warming" "coming out". I've got better things to do than water my tomaties three times a day.

    I just started soaking a brick of this coconut husk today, and it expanded nicely. I am using it as a peat substitute for planting, so I have rinsed it a few times to reduce any salts. However, there is an odour. It's not a terrible odour, but more like eucalyptol or some volatile organic chemical. I'm still going to mix it up and hope for the best!

    There are a few uses for it. Most will use it to cover a lizard cage. I like it for my soil. It breaks up the soil and keeps the moisture. This product also takes care of a couple of environmental concerns. Peet bogs are being stripped and are releasing co2. The coconut husks are a by product of the coconut industry. This helps with both problems. I just wish it were a little less expensive. But it is a very good product. I know I will buy it again.

    This is my first time buying coco coir and using it. I was using this coco coir for seed starting and one brick took me at least 2 litres of boiling water to expand properly. I would recommend trying to get a smaller chunk of the brick if you don't want to use a lot like others have said. No weird smells and a decent price for the amount you get. I'd buy it again.
