I work in construction, to my lamentation I need a pen, pencil, and marker at all times. This one has endured 2 years of the treatment any bic pen would have been written off after an hour

    This pen is very nice, it's smooth, writes good, has a good feel and rugged. I bought it based off the reviews, I have a lot of zebras pens and my fave is the stainless steel one, this one is a close second the one thing I would change is maybe put a knurled grip on the x701 and make it a bit more heavier, I prefer heavier pens and I love the knurled grip, if they did that I would buy 100 of them however as it sits i might buy another, I might not. The biggest thing I would say to change is the cheap feeling plastic grip make that knurled metal and you'd have a grand slam of a pen.

    I bought this with the hope of it becoming my new EDC pen at work. I'm a Paramedic, working for a service that still does it ALL on paper. I work in Canada so need one that can freeze, boil, and write upside down in the rain. I have a Fisher Space Pen which is great to jot short notes, useless for long forms and diatribes.

    Like the title says, if you like how Zebra writes, you'll like this pen. Unlike most Zebras, it has a fairly thick barrel which improves comfort, but it consists of hard, knurled metal thereby neutralizing that large barrel's positive effect. As it is, the pen is rather uncomfortable long-term or for long reports, conspiracy theories, and cult leader manifestos.

    I haven't tested it upside down or in the rain, but so far it works at modest below freezing temperatures.

    I write on triplicate and quadruplicate forms. Often I apply too much pressure in day to day writing and that makes the sharp little tip of a Zebra pen gouge into paper and shred documents. Not exactly convenient when signing a cheque from Grandma, is it?

    Do they make ink cartridges in blue? Or in a 1mm ball? Better yet, both? I don't know, but if they do, I'll take a box of them, please send me a link.

    Overall, seems to be a high quality build, Zebra is very close to making the perfect pen. But they've been very close for years.

Recently I noticed that the price on this model is much higher than I purchased it for. For the current price, I would not buy it regardless of its quality. The pen is basic, it's only quality is a sturdy case.

    What does tactical pen even mean? writes well in inclement weather?, can take a truck driving over it ? stab someone in the eye?
    This pen sucks. Over 30 yrs I've had many Zebra pens, all the 0.7mm sort. This one blobs on every use, and has since the day I opened it. I've had it sitting on my desk for 4 months and I force myself to pick it up and try again. As to inclement weather, it hasn't made it outside.
    At almost $15 I expected far more.
    I do however like the Uni Jetstream Slim Compact, tho since it doesn't bill itself as tactical, not sure of its suitability to military use.

    I was expecting way more. But you're better off with the dull steel F-701. This X is flimsy, plasticky, and the three piece barrel unscrews from itself way too easily. The grip is slippery and uncomfortable. The nib is scratchy. Overall not something I'd buy again at this price. For $16 it should be a pack of 3.
