  • Trim the plastic a little around the pins for the plug end in order for it to completely plug all the way into the radio. If the sound is not loud enough and the PTT function does not work then the prongs are NOT far enough into the radio and the plastic must be sanded down further. Once the prongs are far enough in, the PTT and sound levels work perfectly.

    You need to swap the wires soldered to 2 and 3 tabs, these will come not working properly but once you rewire it then it will work amazing. Highly recommend for the price then just do the rewiring.

    Tabs are engraved when opening it up.

    Amongst the other reviews I was hesitant but purchased anyway. Mine was not reversed wired like other reviews previously mentioned (maybe they fixed the issue?). I did however have to shave the connecter to fit my baofeng UV-5R. At first I thought there was an issue; you really have to press in your headset jack into the PTT. Make sure that it’s fully seated, it takes a pretty push and you’ll feel it click into place. I didn’t want to force anything and thought there was an issue, just have to push it in all the way. They really should fix the connector issue considering many of us airsofters use the uv5r but I can’t take off stars for that

    Attempted to cut around the edges of the connection to try and push it in more, and even tried soldering the connections backwards, but this just bricked the unit.
