I think the lights will be great for parties since they are super easy to use, you just need to screw them into a light socket and with power they automatically rotate. The lights splash different colors/shapes around. There's no way to control the speed of the rotation. The one thing I will mention is to be careful when taking the bulbs out of their box. They fit quite tightly, and because you can separate the clear plastic part from the base, you could accidentally pull the thin wires inside and maybe cause damage. I'd recommend opening both ends of the box pushing the lights through instead of pulling. I bought the 3 pack and all lights work well.

Now there are newer and more advanced bulbs out there that cost only a few bucks more but for my money, I am totally satisfied and my fiancee is extremely happy with this product. We turn out our regular lights and put on the light show every weekend with our music for that home club experience or whenever we are gaming or even just for that special "mood" enhancement. We even give some of these out as gifts to friends. That is how much we like them. They are bang-on-the-dot excellent and for the price you pay, you could not ask for a better product. With a little care they should definitely last you quite a long while as ours are still going and we use them quite frequently. The only thing we wish they were able to do is replace worn parts without having to buy an entire new bulb but only for the waste not for the cost as we feel the cost is quite frugal. The absence of a remote control function is a bit of a drawback but, honestly, how hard is it to get up and turn it on or off, which are all the functions this bulb has. Now, if it had greater degree of functionality then the remote might be more of an issue with me. As it is, I am more than satisfied with this product.
