As far as fairy lights go, I actually really like these ones—I've been searching for ones that are not only short enough for small uses like in glass wine bottles but also are in a pack of many & have a nice warm light. These check all those boxes, and they only use a single AAA battery each compared to others I've seen that use like 4x AA in a control box. The fake cork is also pretty unassuming though a bit long, and I've got a few in some lanterns with battery candles that hide them from view well (in the dim light, they're completely unseen).
My only gripe with them is that when turned on for the first time, they require being set by the ONE remote that is included in the package as they start in the blinking mode and very much seem broken. They're not—it's just the default mode for some reason; if you use the remote to set them to solid light, they look great and retain the setting until the battery is removed. It's pretty annoying if you have these strewn about your house on different floors and have to go around with the remote to set them all individually... something to be mindful of, I guess.
So unfortunately they don't work properly right out of the box, but once set they're very cute & add a romantic flair to any space. Also, they have a timer mode which is awesome.
