I've had several mixers over the years. This was going to replace two older units, as I wanted the dedicated RCA/line inputs. One to use for sound from a computer via RCA> The other I would use for a Yamaha Digital stage piano. Lines 1 to 4 for microphones/ guitars
But,
The RCA/Jacks channels had low sound, even with the mixers channel volumes maxed and the output volume maxed. The volume on both keyboard and Computer were also maxed out. On my old mixers this was not an issue.
The sound quality is subpar. From both the headphone jack, and the speaker outputs, the quality of the sound is noticeably degraded compared to speakers or headphone directly into the audio equipment. Didn't matter which channel I plugged equipment into. Audio quality is clearly not great. and a clear noticeable difference compared to my old mixers. Yes, the effects are OFF. Gain and volume in the neutral positions.
The unit runs extremely hot. I don't understand this. I have never had a non-amplified audio mixer be hot to the touch.
Any comments as to whether or not what I am experiencing is normal, or do I have a bad unit. Please note that I have 30 years experience with mixers. This unit is not that complicated.
