Now that I've had the chance to use it, I can confidently say it's a fantastic choice for anyone starting out.
The sound quality is impressive, especially for a guitar in this price range. It has a rich, warm tone that makes practicing enjoyable. The nylon strings are gentle on the fingers, which is perfect for beginners like me who are still building up calluses.
The build of the guitar is sturdy and feels well-made. It stays in tune nicely, and the playability is smooth and comfortable. The full-size design is comfortable to hold and play, even for extended practice sessions.
Overall, I'm really pleased with my purchase of the Yamaha C40II. It's an excellent guitar for beginners who want a reliable instrument to start their musical journey. Plus, the reputation of Yamaha for quality and durability reassures me that I made the right choice. Highly recommended!

- Reviewed in Canada on March 6, 2025Verified PurchaseGreat customer service and product. I will buy with them again for sure.
- Reviewed in Canada on December 29, 2024Verified PurchaseI purchased this guitar for my son as his first guitar about a year ago.
He has gone from beginner and after lessons he has progressed to now playing his school band.
We are very happy with this purchase and I recommend this for anyone considering their first guitar.
- Reviewed in Canada on March 30, 2025Verified PurchasePredatory return policies!
Be warned from buying from this music store company. You need to pay the shipping fee for the return plus they will also deduct the original shipping cost from your refund and on top of that,15% restocking fee plus tax if the boxing is opened (which you would need to do to test out the instrument to find out its unsatisfactory).
In the end, you don’t get much back if you want to return their products.
For the product itself, the strings become untuned very quickly, and for the bass strings the guitar gave a whistling sound.

5.0 out of 5 stars Uncle Johnny loves it.
Verified PurchaseThe guitar was a welcome blessing to my Uncle whose last guitar now plays for cherubs. Thought I ordered the one with a tuner.
Not! But he says it it's great and likes it very well. No complaints. Thank you very much.
