    I've bought the official Microsoft rechargeable battery packs for both the Xbox One and Series X/S and both failed within weeks/months. They wouldn't charge unless the console was powered on and it was a hassle. Shortly after, they would just stop charging altogether.

    These battery packs are amazing. They are completely independent from the controller itself was they have a dedicated USB-C directly on the battery pack. It shows the battery percentage with its 1-100% scale. In the kit, you get 2 battery packs, 2 One/Series battery cover plates and 2 Elite cover plates.

    They are very well made and they are loaded with protection. A neat product that I am going to get a lot of use of.

    I have two Xbox controllers: Xbox Series X|S (model 1914) and Xbox One S / One X (model 1708). I use the corresponding covers: Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One/Elite.
    The Xbox One/Elite cover fits perfectly, while the Series X|S cover has a slight gap toward the front (see photo). It's not critical, but it's definitely noticeable.
    USB-C charging is a huge plus, especially since many similar products still use micro-USB.
    With this battery pack, your controller will weigh about 10 grams less than with regular alkaline batteries. On the flip side, alkaline batteries provide longer playtime. This battery is rated at 5.52 Wh, while a pair of alkaline AA batteries gives around 7.5 Wh ¡ª about 27% more. So, you¡¯ll get roughly 27% less playtime per charge. That said, if you play frequently, you'll save money in the long run and reduce battery waste, which is better for the environment.
    The main reason this product might not suit everyone is the bump housing the display. The bump is quite substantial ¡ª around 12 mm (roughly 1/2 inch) high ¡ª and spans most of the battery cover. Personally, it doesn¡¯t affect my grip much, but it is unusual to feel that raised section under my middle fingers. I have medium to large hands, and it took a bit of getting used to.
    I assume the bump is needed to accommodate the digital display. Personally, I would have preferred a slimmer form factor, even if it meant sacrificing the display.
    Overall, it's a solid rechargeable pack with some trade-offs depending on your preferences.

    I appreciate the built-in LED display, which accurately reflects the charge level with the touch of a button, and the ease of charging with the included USB-A to USB-C adapter. These compatible Xbox controller rechargeable batteries slot in easily, and the included plastic covers are designed to work with newer Xbox Series X|S styled controllers. Alternatively, you can use the included plastic covers for Xbox One-style controllers. So far in my testing, the charge levels appear to hold and exceed those of my OEM Xbox rechargeable batteries, so I'm pleased with the performance. The LED charge indicator, which is visible at a glance, is excellent for ensuring I don't find myself mid-game with a depleted controller. An easy recommended buy, given the under $25 price for the two-pack and its performance out of the box.

    I got really tired of searching high and low for AA batteries which are in high demand in my house to power all the various toys my kids have. These battery packs save me the trouble for powering my Xbox controllers.

    These batteries are able to power multiple long play sessions before re-charging, and the fact that there are two means I can always make sure one is fully charged for the next session. Also comes with a handy LED indicator which lets you know how much juice is left.

    The only thing I'd want more out of them is to be slightly less bulky and to come in different colour options; however, when I'm playing games I don't notice them at all so it's not big deal.

    When is Microsoft going to catch up with the rest of the gaming world and start making rechargeable controllers, every time I have upgraded to the latest model I have to buy one of these because the controllers eat normal batteries like nobody¡¯s business.
    This is a good one as it has adaptors which is something none of the others I have bought had, it¡¯s not specific to 1 controller which is handy if you still have other controllers.
    Push the battery pack into place 1st then clip the cover on to hold it in place.
    Comes in black and white to suit your controller colour, has a C type charging cable included.
    The batteries are 5520mwh which is pretty good capacity and the fact that there are 2 means a quick change over when one runs out and get it on charge.
    No more buying disposable batteries which honestly I found myself buying and changing constantly.
    Well done to these manufacturers who have got our backs with items like this and this one at ?15 I think is an absolute bargain and money saver.

    These are a big upgrade over the usual guesswork you get from the Xbox battery indicator. The built-in LED display is a proper game-changer¡ªno more wondering if you¡¯ve got 2 hours or 10 minutes left. Charges fast, lasts ages, and works across my Series X and One controllers without any issues. Comes with two packs so I can swap one out while the other¡¯s charging. If you¡¯re fed up with the console¡¯s terrible battery estimates or wasting money on AAs, this is a no-brainer.

    These battery packs work great with my Xbox Series controller, and the LED percentage display is a real upgrade over guessing battery life. They charge quickly and last a good while, but the build feels a bit cheap and the cable is short. Make sure you're using an official Xbox controller ¡ª they won¡¯t fit third-party shells or Xbox 360 models. Overall, a solid deal for the price and a big improvement over regular AAs

    These battery packs cost the same as the ones I've been using up until now, but have (apparently) higher capacity and that battery meter built in. Nice! A two hour session saw it use about 10% of the charge, which means 26 hours of gameplay on a charge might be stretching it a bit, but I wasn't too concerned about that. I know from working with them that percentage meters on battery operated things are 'indicative' at best. The display will only be shown when charging or when you press the button on the bottom, so you're not going to walk into a room of upside-down 7-segment displays when there's an event of some sort underway.

    The two designs of battery covers for them are really helpful. My Windows gaming is done with an old Xbox One controller and my console gaming is on an Xbox Series X, and both can be powered using these. If you try and put one on and it doesn't fit tidily, you've probably picked up the wrong cover (I speak from experience).

    Any complaints? Not really. I'm begrudgingly accepting that mWh is being used instead of mAh for capacity now, but will always do the sums to compare to the cells in other devices. This would be a 1500mAh cell, but that doesn't sound as super ultimate power as 5520mWh in marketing!

    Regardless - a decent option for your controllers.

    Battery life is soli, I usually get a couple of long play sessions (6¨C8 hours each) before needing to swap or recharge. Definitely beats scrambling for batteries in the middle of a game. Also nice that you can play while charging if needed.

    If you use your Xbox regularly, these are well worth grabbing. Simple, reliable, and saves money in the long run.
