About this item
- REPAIR DAMAGED WOOD: Fills and rebuilds missing sections to help restore windows, doors, trim, columns, posts, and other elements. Permanently repairs damage caused by weather, moisture, age, and pests.
- EASY TO USE: Our wood epoxy has a 20-30 minute pot life (working time) and can be mixed and applied by hand. It can be painted, stained, drilled, carved, sawed, nailed, planed, sanded, and routed, just like natural wood.
- GREENGUARD CERTIFIED: This product contains almost no VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and does not have water or solvents. It has a low odor and is a clean, safe wood repair solution for both the user and the environment.
- NO SHRINKING OR CRACKING: This wood filler can be used for both exterior and interior repairs. It creates structural, shrink-free repairs that mimic the original wood. They bond to previously damaged substrates and are resistant to further damage by water, pests, and UV.
- ABATRON: We specialize in providing high-quality, easy-to-use, permanent building restoration products. Our items do not contain solvents and have virtually no VOCs. We are committed to offering safe products that deliver professional results.

- Reviewed in Canada on May 23, 2025Verified PurchaseThis product worked as described.
I had a 1” x 10” chunk of wood decking out and the product once kneaded together and plugged into the hole, it hardened in 24 hours and I was able to sand and stain.👍🏻
- Reviewed in Canada on August 3, 2019Verified PurchaseOverall, a great product. It's easy to mix because or the 1:1 ratio, and stays workable for a long time, but sets up within a few hours (sooner if you apply heat). As advertised, it doesn't shrink when cured, and it's easy to carve and sand. I used it to fill a large rotted section in exterior wood window molding, and it performed beautifully.
One minor negative - it is the consistency of play dough and doesn't adhere easily to the wood. It wants to stick to your gloved hands instead. Pressing it in with a putty knife helps, but tooling and forming can be awkward. You get the hang of it though.

- Reviewed in Canada on October 17, 2019Verified PurchaseI have a small trailer that had small amounts of moisture damage. I dug out all the soft rotted wood, let it dry out for a few weeks. Then I applied 2 coats of wood petrifier. This made the remaining wood super hard. I then used WoodEpox to fill in the areas I had dug out, worked like a charm. I rolled up equal balls of putty from each tub and kneaded them together for a few minutes and filled in the cracks. Problem gone! It also went way further than I thought it would. This stuff is awesome and I recommend it highly. I have not tried other products in this category so I cannot compare. I removed 1 star due to the high price.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 15, 2023Verified PurchaseI have old wood siding with chunks missing. This product was amazing. Formed, sanded and easy to work with. then painted it. now after winter I see it has cracked and so has the paint on it. can i sand it and repaint. why did it crack
- Reviewed in Canada on October 16, 2020Verified PurchaseWorks as advertised. Easy to use and mold - like lightweight plasticene. Saves you from having to completely remove or re-build damaged wood. I used it on my homes pillar, trim and fence. BUT, make sure you also purchase liquid wood petrifier and apply it first after properly prepping the site. Then apply the wood epoxy and paint. See youtube for videos.
- Reviewed in Canada on October 4, 2017Verified PurchaseProduct works as described. Need to apply when sunny and warm. Cures fast and becomes hard. All this is fine. But the most annoying part of this application (which almost made me regret buying) was due to the fact that when applying it sticks to the hands and gloves/putty stick like crazy. The hand gloves that were provided were of hardly any use since they shredded to pieces within 2 minutes of usage (due to kneading the dough, etc). even with the gloves, the pastes keeps sticking to the gloves more than the wood surface where it was applied. I was wasting more time in making it NOT stick to the gloves and stay in contact with the wood surface.
Later I applied a thin film of cooking oil to my palm (i had to throw the gloves within 10 mins as it shredded completely). So, after oil it worked fine for few minutes until the oil film disappeared from palm, at which time I had to again re-apply the oil film on palm. So, this went on for quite sometime and I was able to complete the project this way.
It even stuck to the putty knife that was provided.
2 days on and its hardened like stone (luckily it was sunny and very warm). Winter is upon us, so lets see how it stands test of time. Time will tell.
Giving only 3 stars due to the fact mentioned above. They need to either provide better non-stick gloves or do some chemical innovation in the mixture so taht it does not stick to hand.
Will I buy again? No... dont think so. Too expensive for what its worth.
- Reviewed in Canada on January 16, 2019Verified PurchaseExcellent product works as advertised. Used to rebuild some crown mouldings and has held up just beautifully. Was able to carve and sand the same details and paint it so that the repair became invisible. It was hard for me to source this product outside of 鶹; it should be available in all hardware stores! Almost odourless, deceptively feels like a kids' craft when using. Very expensive but I felt it was worth its value for my particular project.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, indispensable product
Verified PurchaseI am restoring a 75 year old house, including wood sash windows and siding. This stuff is absolutely essential to my restoration work. It is my go-to product for wood repairs. It is easy to use and apply, can be molded into any shape, and fills wood areas flawlessly. I worked recently on a wood window sash with big chunks of it rotted away. I used both the Abatron LiquidWood on spongy areas (if you haven't looked at that product, do so as it is equally amazing), and this putty product to fill areas. I had whole chunks of wood missing from this window frame, and I was able to fill it, sand it to shape, and basically rebuild the sash with this product. Once cured, it sands down much like wood and takes paint OK (I didn't use stain, so I can't say how it does in that area). I use this all the time and as soon as I get low I order more. Fantastic product.
My only "wishful" comment is this: the LiquidWood is a pure liquid (also 2-part) which firms up spongy or punky wood, and does a great job, but it is a liquid. This is a putty, so you use it like a putty or child's dough -- form it into shapes, use it to fill wood areas, let it harden, and sand it as needed. I just wish Abatron would make a product like this that was between a liquid and a putty ... something along the consistency of frosting or cake batter that could be smoothed into place with a putty knife and pressed into cracks and holes. This is OK, but you can't really smooth it with a putty knife, as it is too "doughy" for that. That being said, if you are doing wood repair, it is a most excellent product, both in the application and in working it after it has cured.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super easy filler
Verified PurchaseI was a little sceptical at first when I received the pots but once I started using it it was fantastic. Really easy to use, like play-doe. I recommend placing it in a warm place first as this makes the resulting 'putty' much more malleable. It's expensive but is easy to mold, can fill large areas quickly and hardens well. I was able to sand, carve and drill it successfully.
