I couldn’t find a lot of information on this brand, however they do have a US website. They appear to specialize in long distance transmission - mainly point to point - where they move an internet signal up to 5 km before redistributing it in something like this product. They appear to be high end products and I did find many youtube reviews on their other stuff. Having said this, I couldn’t find a company HQ, or any address for it, and this product isn’t (yet - Mar 2025) listed on their US website. Given this I couldn’t find any updated firmware or anything.
I started the review with some of this, because after testing it I started having trouble with my primary router dropping the internet connection with my internet provider. Unplugging this one and many restarts didn’t seem to help either. Replacing my primary router with a backup got things running smoothly again . It could easily be unrelated, but I’m leaving this in the review in case others have the same issue. I do have a complicated system, so as long as I’m the only one, I wouldn’t worry about this and it's not affecting my rating.
From the web interface this calls it an “AP10”, however the manual and ad refers to it as WA635XA. It comes with a PoE injector rated at 54V @ 30 W, however I have a server that can supply PoE. Random checks have it at 49V @ between 6 and 9 W, although the manual says it can use up to 18. In addition to the PoE injector, it also came with a fiber internet SPF+ adapter thing.
Accessing it, you can do by going to 6.6.6.6, or by knowing what IP address it was assigned by your router and typing that in. The web interface is decent for what it is, given that your main router is doing all the work. The web interface gives me the license status “registered”, despite me not having to register it, which is nice. It also has a real time traffic graph which appears to be pretty accurate.
It appears to be very good at targeting your devices wirelessly. When I try to connect I have no signal, but as soon as I’ve connected, I jump up to full bars. It also has a wireless power setting that may have something to do with this. I have it left in default as auto, but you can change it to anywhere between off and 1000 mW / 30 dBm, for either the 2.4 and/or the 5.0 networks (as well as force it to a channel).
I only have 50 Mbps coming into the house, but it gives me the full speed. It appears pretty waterproof as well. The manual is pretty well written as well.
I will try to update this review once I have it in its final location and I can get a maximum number of meters both through trees and line of sight readings. I did read in a networking post about the fact that your router can be as powerful as you want, but it still has to be able to hear back from your phone/laptop. So if one guy has a megaphone, you might hear him from 300m away, but if he can’t hear you, you still can’t have a conversation. This is one reason, in theory anyway, those 4 big antennas are nice - it gives the guy really good ears to hear you.
Lastly, mine came with a crack in it at the bottom. I don't imagine that is common practice as everything was supported well. If this wasn't a vine item I'd request a return. However, I don't think it's really going to bother me, or the function in anyway.
