Update: a year later. The units are working perfectly with absolutely no flaws nor detectable noise. I live in an Apartment and you would think that I wouldn't need a sub, but a sub adds warmth to the music by filling it out at low volumes, otherwise the music sound radio'ish. You need this unit to give you the freedom of wireless.
Using it for a subwoofer and it seems to be receiving the ultra low frequencies to match my $600 Klipsh. Was thinking about buying this for over a couple of years now and I finally bought it when I decided to move my sub to the back of my living room. The freedom of moving the wireless Sub anywhere has been a dream but I have always been afraid that a wireless unit could not handle the lower frequencies of a sub. No hum. No crackling. Just the low thumps of the sub. Also no hassles in setting it up, just connect the RCA jacks, power them up and the transmitter and receiver paired immediately. Listening to music at the moment, If I detect any abnormalities I'll be back to write it up but so far I don't hear any problems.
Update: the subwoofer auto shut off does work with this wireless unit which is a relief as I was worried that since the receiver is always on at which some form of low frequency audio might keep the subwoofer on always. Conversely the sub auto turns on when audio is sent and received. So this was the last worry that I had. Now to see how long this wireless unit will last.
