I don't anticipate similar problems with this product. It's more expensive than ice cream scoops available in supermarkets and big box stores, but much better quality. Good value.

    Why did no one tell me earlier in my life about using an ice cream scoop for cookie dough? WHY? I have wasted so many years of my life mucking around with sticky dough on spoons!

    A++, great for scooping cookie dough. I imagine it'd be good for other things, too (like ice cream, I guess). Nice, easy action, not too hard on the thumb. Only downside is that there's really no way to wash the underside of the little scraper/releaser bit other than swishing it well under hot water, as its full range of motion is flush with the scoop.
