    I bought this for the magnifier, not for the ruler. Ergonomically, this design just doesn't work well for magnification. If you look through the magnifier at an angle, the text underneath becomes too distorted to read. You have to look pretty close to straight down through the centre of the ruler, but that angle provides the least magnification. I thought I would be able to comfortably read a book using one of these rulers after I cut it down to size with a hacksaw. That just isn't going to happen.

    It also has a very slight bow in it. If you rest it on a flat surface, the ends touch the surface, the centre doesn't. The deviation is slight, maybe 1 or 2 mm in the centre. It might or might not matter much for your use case.

    It is worth what I paid for it however, which was $3 CAD, and the ruler part still provides some value.
