OMG. Purchased the West Wing set in April this year. I wanted my partner to see this great series. We just started season 3 and realized that the set is missing 3 discs! Discs 3,4, and 5 are gone! This set is either defective or used! I feel so sorry that I trusted 鶹 and didnt inspect it when I received it. I thought these things were always so reliable. I guess 鶹 and their shippers are as unreliable as anyone else. Darn it

    This is a completely satisfactory series in every way possible...if the American presidency and the White House are your interests. Each episode is so tightly pack with action, repartee, content, tragedy, comedy [those last two in the Greek mode] and there is literally never a dull mement anywhere to be seen. It has given me an entirely new mindset concerning the presidency and the White House and how it works. It only gets better as you travel through the years. Acting is steady, evolving and no one, it seems, is miscast. I could not recommend this product more.

    I am currently viewing season 5. I absolutely love this series. It puts governing the US on a par with words such as integrity, truth, character, service. I could go on. Yes bad things happen. Yes people make mistakes. But it is depicted in a way that I wish President Trump would watch and learn a few lessons as well as learn to listen. The series indicates that it is not about the president but about governing, dealing with the concerns of the average "Joe and Jane". The show has made me curious to find out more about how the US government works and for my whole life I never really cared (I'm Canadian and that could be seen as a separate issue I know). There is some surfing and a library visit in my near future. For some really good television with no sex, swearing or violence this series is magnificent. I will be rewatching this!!!

    I'll admit this will be a biased review. Because I. Love. West Wing. I've had this set for a few years now and it's gotten plenty of use.

    The seasons are arranged as a file folder would be. Each season containing about 6-12 discs, and containing numerous special features. (I've never been into special features so I can't really review them, sorry, but they're there!).
    I've always liked the feel of the folder-like arrangement of the seasons. And it helps in organization/finding your correct place. The included season guide booklet has been a help, with listings and descriptions of each episode.

    This entire collection is -very- compactly arranged, with great photos of each cast member on each season folder. And as I've said, have had this collection with me for a few years now, through a few different moves and packing boxes, and it still looks rather new. (Except for some of the folders which are my fault...). It's a sturdy little construction.

    Would definitely buy this again. I mean, you're getting 150 or so hours of entertainment here! I'll keep from reviewing each season and some of the episodes and keep to the actual collection...

    Buuuut.... If you like political dramas, with a big dash of wit, intelligence, and comedy. You'll love The West Wing. Some of the lines/speech's, events are some of the best writing in television, that will move you to tears, make you laugh, and think. Do you know why I keep coming back to The West Wing? Because in a world so cynical, so intent on mindless entertainment, and so oft tired, this series lets you remember there's more out there than what can be easily seen, makes you remember how far we've come and yet to go in so many ways, even as we stumble in so many others.

    The packaging of this series is well done. It is compact, yet easy to find the discs. My husband was very happy to get it from Santa.

    The one thing that was a little annoying is that I ordered it in early December and amazon said they couldn't guarantee it's arrival if I went with the free shipping, so I ended up paying extra for shipping. It arrived 2 days later - I don't think it was necessary at all to pay extra. I kinda feel a like they took advantage. Oh well.

    Several months ago, I, and several family members, started to watch this series on DVD. By the time we reached the start of Season Three, we had encountered three disks that would not load - on any of three DVD players. The set belonged to my son and his wife, and had been viewed (possibly) hundreds of times. And it is worth watching, and watching again. But it was worn out.
    I tried to purchase the seven-season set from a UK source (and did have a converter to make it work on a North American player) and after no delivery after about three months, asked for my money back - and got it.
    So I chose to get this version, which comes in the same box as the one we started with, and went with one that was sourced from North America. Three weeks later, it is a no-show. Tracking the order confirms it shipped. "Your package may have been lost." is the current status. "You are welcome to ask for a refund." is the only note of encouragement. We shake our heads in consternation.
    If you order this product, and receive it (even if it shows up a couple of weeks late), we envy you.

    A very intelligent show, well worth checking out if you haven't seen it already. It has a few issues, but the characters are fascinating, the writing is smart, and the stories are compelling.

    One star off for no remaster, though I doubt one will ever happen, and for this collection NOT being as pictured. Buying this gets you all the seasons, yes, but not in the briefcase folder. This is just the bare bones season sets. Still, it's cheaper than getting all the sets individually.
