    Used one for the heat pump, and the other for the furnace. Instructions say to use only one of the black wires for 120v. LED lights are on which means they’re operational.. I hope they work as intended.. I guess I’ll never know though. A little insurance on the equipment we’ll call it.

    We live in Florida and due to lightning strikes tend to get frequent power fluctuations (spikes and brownouts). Considering the exorbitant cost of replacing a damaged compressor/condenser fan, I thought this would be a smart investment. The surge suppressor arrived quickly and in good condition. It includes the ability to be mounted directly to the box via a knockout plug, or you can mount it separately with the supplied bracket. I wanted to be able to monitor the unit and see the green light to confirm it was protecting so I simply mounted it in an unused knockout hole. The installation was straightforward, 3 wires, 1 to each live line and the green to ground. The unit comes with no printed instructions and the outside of the box has a QR code which is supposed to supply instructions. I believe it was cut-off but it did not work on 2 different cell phones. Due to the lack of instructions I gave the unit 4-stars.
