Each bottle contains a root beer extract which is cooked together with sugar and water on the stove to make root beer syrup. Stored in the fridge the syrup is added to water to make colourless root beer. The flavour and smell are both lovely and the whole family enjoyed this homemade root beer using the home soda pop maker, but you could add it to unflavoured gelatin to make root beer Jello too. Regular root beer typically contains caramel colour (derived from corn), however, this root beer does not contain any colours and is clear as water. It was a high quality, good value, and we will make many bottles of root beer from the 2 batches of syrup each bottle makes.
