How to Use Wancle Burr Coffee Grinder

  • The larger the coffee beans, the more space they take up and the less coffee powder they can grind. The coarser the coffee powder you set, the more cups you can get.

  • The finer the coffee powder is set, the closer the two grinding heads are, the longer the grinding time is, and the louder the noise is. But the ground coffee powder is finer and more uniform.

  • 1. The grinder head and coffee bean hopper are not installed correctly 2. The power button is touched too lightly and the switch spring is not pressed into place.

  • The Wancle flat grinder has an overheat protection system. It takes about 10 minutes to cool down before it can be restarted.

I purchased this to replace an old blade grinder. I use it primarily for a smaller French Press (around 3.5 to 4 cups) and use a coarse grind (#21). Filling the hopper and setting the cup number to #4 resulted in all of the beans being ground which was far too much. Setting it to #2 resulted in it being slightly under what I required, so I guess 2.5 to 3 might be 'just right'. It's not a problem - once I've found the sweet spot for this sized French Press, I'll jot it down somewhere, and I'm good. The ground particles look even, and it's not noisy at all (in my opinion). The instructions are very good, and there's a colour pamphlet describing the disassembly and reassemble for cleaning. This is fairly easy to follow, but requires a little care so that it all lines up correctly. I had no issues with it, though others have said that they had difficulty. I'm impressed by the quality of this little grinder!
