This bottle does exactly what it is reported to do. I purchased the 350 ml bottle for my 19 lb dog and used it on a road trip through the western USA, so, it was hot! Having the ability to drain unused water back into the reservoir is perfect for day trips and those moments you offer your dog a drink but they don't take much! Very easy to clean as well. The mechanism for releasing and retrieving water is mechanical (not electrical) and has a very solid feel to it. It feels like this bottle will last for some time, but I only purchased in summer 2023 so we will see
