It's great, stays cool for about an hour if it's really hot out but all you have to do is shake it and as long as it's still damp it gets cool again! The container isn't really sealed so you can't store water in there with it, I just dump some water from my water bottle on it or soak it before we leave and it's good to go. Can wear it across the back and tied at the front, as a bandana or over the ears like a snood (the last method works best for cooling my dog after the hike on the drive home in my opinion). Definitely a necessity for those who hike in the summer with their dogs, and a really great price!

A nice piece of fabric with nice bottle you can put water in and bring along on a walk. So basically you can cut down your old athletic top, wet it down with drinking water you have on a hike anyways (or just in a creek or river nearby) and have the same effect for much less money.
But it might be a nice gift.

I just wish they have different colors. I will order even more. Lol.

Edit to add: the people who claim to keep wetting it is not using it right I think. The instruction says to shake it to keep cool. There is some technology in the fabric. All you have to do is shake it to recool it. I think maybe it's the same technology as those first aid ice pack you shake it to activate the coldness. I just wonder if it gets wear out with laundering. I guess I'll report back after it's been in the wash a few times.

I would say they work great had I only gotten one to compare but ordered two for both my dogs and one will stay cold and the other dries rather quickly.
They don’t even look the same. One has a stiffer type material and black backing, that is the one that won’t stay wet. The other seems to have better quality material and a grey backing.

I put this bandana on my dog every hot day and especially when he is going on his walks. He doesn't make a fuss at all, he seems to find relief by having it on him. I use cold water on the bandana and the water dampness/coolness lasts a fairly long time. I use the container the bandana came in for water for him to drink water from on his walks. When he bends over to drink water or eat, the bandana does flip up over his head onto his face. I don't know if he does this on purpose or what, but it is funny when this happens. Not a big deal, I just take it off of him. My dog is bigger than an average size dog with a lot of skin and hair around his neck and the bandana just fits him. Arrived very fast. I highly recommend this item.
