About the author

John H. Cunningham is the USA TODAY best selling author of the Buck Reilly adventure series, which includes Red Right Return, Green to Go, Crystal Blue, Second Chance Gold, Maroon Rising, Free Fall to Black, Silver Goodbye, White Knight, Indigo Abyss, Purple Deceiver, Buried in Orange, and Under the Charcoal Sky, along with The Last Raft, a stand alone novel. John was also a co-writer on Graceless, and Timeless.
Through the years, John has been a bouncer at a Key West nightclub, a diver, magazine editor, commercial developer, song writer and global traveler. He has either lived in or visited the many island locations that populate the series, and has experienced or witnessed enough craziness and wild times to keep the Buck Reilly series flowing indefinitely.
Adhering to the old maxim, "write what you know," John's books have an authenticity and immediacy that have earned a loyal following and strong reviews. Buck Reilly is a reflection of us all, including our frailties, strengths, dreams, fears, successes, failures, mistakes and occasional victories. He has no government agency, team of soldiers, unlimited cash, or secret agents coming to his rescue, because none of us do either.
John lives in Virginia and Key West, and spends much of his time traveling. His choices for the places and plots that populate the Buck Reilly series include many subjects that he loves: Key West, Cuba, Jamaica, and multiple Caribbean settings, along with amphibious aircraft, colorful characters, and stories that concern themselves with the same tensions and issues that affect all of our lives.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic and overflowing with danger filled pages wrought with intrigue!
Verified PurchaseFrom page one the action builds with Buck casually diving for his fish dinner when a passing helicopter is blown out of the sky. After diving to the wreckage as it sinks below the surface, he finds a female passenger struggling to escape as her air pocket is shrinking. Buck manages to untangle and free her and burst through the surface gasping for air. Once the dust settles and conversation explored, it turns out the victim is none other than the first lady of France. The multi-level high octane action bombards the senses with non-stop deadly action. There are twists and turns and an ending I didn't see coming. It's a great read.

4.0 out of 5 stars An Intense Edgy Adventure
Verified PurchaseJohn H. Cunningham, Author of "White Knight: A Buck Reilly Adventure" has written a captivating, intriguing, intense, riveting, thrilling adventure and fast action paced novel. There are twists and turns, betrayals, danger, rescue, and murder. The timeline for this novel is the present and goes to the past when it pertains to the characters and events. The setting for this story is in the Virgin Islands and surrounding areas. The author describes his characters as complicated, complex, and motivated.
If Buck Reilly thinks that he can have just an ordinary vacation, he should know that is just not possible. After a disappointment, Buck witnesses a white streak hit a helicopter crash into the water. Dashing off, he is able to rescue one woman, who has a head injury. Buck takes her to his boat and helps her. First, the woman seems to have amnesia, but then as she regains her memory, she reveals that she is Giselle Huibert, the First Lady of France. Giselle fears for her safety and won't let Buck call law enforcement or her home country. It appears someone was trying to shoot the helicopter down.
Buck realizes that he will have to be the one to find out the questions and answers to what is going on. This starts a cat and mouse chase to survive. The problem is who can be trusted? There is edgy suspense and I found myself page-turning to find Buck and Giselle in one dangerous situation to another more dangerous situation. I would highly recommend this suspenseful and high action novel.
