These mats can't handle metal spatula. I tried the first mat for burgers and this is what happened. My family probably digested some of the mat's material. Don't ever use metal utensils on this. I owned cookina mat's and other ones without any issues with metal utensils. This mat couldn't hack it. See pic and vid

    We use these on top of the ceramic cook top of your induction range when using cast iron cookware. Cast iron is a very hard metal and the bottom of cast iron cookware is a bit rough.

    Cast iron cookware can easily scratch the ceramic surface, and is hard on the ceramic cook top surface. This mat is very thin and very heat resistant. The magnetic field passed through this type of mat with no loss at all.

    Induction cook top does not make heat. Only the bottom surface of the cookware gets hot. The ceramic surface is heated from the cookware's bottom side. When the ceramic does get hot, this is from the residual heat coming from the bottom of the cookware. There is are no heating elements in an induction cook top.

    I bought some large BBQ mats to use on the oven grills to protect from spills and protect the grills when placing cast iron pots on them.

    These mats are very easy to clean. I simply wipe them off with a damp dish cloth. Very easy to use. Nothing simpler than laying them flat on top of the cook top.

    I think these are excellent to be used on any type of ceramic cook top even though they were intended for BBQ use. They will last a very long time because the pots don't get hotter than about 350F to 450F maximum depending on what is being cooked.

    Before I was using these mats I was using Parchment paper. These mats are a lot better for the way I am using them. I have been using these types of BBQ mats probably for 10 years now. I bought more of them because I bought a new induction range and another separate oven.

    Absolutely perfect on the BBQ surface when BBQing chicken quarters, wings or marinated pork. Anything you want to cook and avoid flare ups, use the grill mat. After a season of use, by the end or nearing the end the mat does become a little more difficult to clean, but I manage. Bought the box a few years ago, best value for the price, so far I have been able to re-use the same mat for the whole season, start fresh next spring with a new mat.
