- Reviewed in Canada on February 28, 2022Verified PurchaseEasy to use and clean. As you know, everything is held in the tumbler. I grind beans at home and put them in a sealed bag for the trip. Recommended for safety too as you don't have to use cups in hotel rooms.
- Reviewed in Canada on February 7, 2021If you're a fan of the pour over method this product is for you!
Pros :
- Best materials
- High quality manufacturing
- Lightweight
- Sturdy stainless steel and high-quality plastics
- All parts fit perfectly
- Easy to wash by hand
- All parts dry fast
- Cute design
- and best of all... allow you to make a delicious coffee!
Cons :
- The pour over method involves a lot of time and effort
- Container does not keep coffee warm "for hours" as advertised but only 90 minutes MAX
- Nu.1 filters with cone tip (not flat bottom like Melitta) are extremely hard to find in stores
- Instructions don't mention that you can (read you must) lock the filter holder in place. So, on my first attempts the filter holder was sliding back down in the stainless-steel container.
- No washable coffee filter (would make less waste for all of us and would make a lot of sense for people using this on the road or at camp site)
- Does not include a hard travel case, which is for obvious reason, a MUST
This Cuppamoka from Wacaco is a great product into which Wacaco did put a lot of thinking.
But someone might raise the question: Is the pour over method really a portable solution? With the pour over method to really benefit from it and get all the benefits, you need a good coffee grinder, you need a scale to weight your coffee ground, a timer to watch your brewing time and a goose neck kettle. Euh… can you and will you bring all that necessary hardware at work, on the road or at the camp site? IMO pour over method is not a portable solution.
Wacaco also offers the Pipamoka which is a vacuum coffee maker. It looks easier and faster to use. It uses a washable stainless-steel filter. And Wacaco offers a hard travel case for it. So, unless you’re a long-time die-hard fan of the pour over method I suggest you look at the Wacaco Pipamoka before making a decision.
4.0 out of 5 starsIf you're a fan of the pour over method this product is for you!Cleverly designed. Highly tasteful coffee.

- Reviewed in Canada on January 21, 2022Verified PurchaseIt's great for a small cup of coffee to go. I grind my own beans and this makes pour over so much more convenient when I'm traveling. It's small enough that I can stash it anywhere. I bring it camping with me and compared to other pour over items I have (that uses paper) this is less clutter.
- Reviewed in Canada on August 13, 2021Verified PurchaseMakes a great cup of coffee.
- Reviewed in Canada on February 4, 2021So I prepared my morning coffee in this and I'm sipping from it right now, and overall, I am pretty legitimately impressed by it. The quality of the cup and all of the parts is pretty impeccable, it's all top notch in terms of materials, and everything fits together perfectly. The "brewing" part of it, you leave behind and replace with the "lid" part of it after you're done - thankfully it comes with a little plate (they call it the collector) that the brew top fits onto perfectly to collect any remaining drips while you focus on enjoying your coffee.
I particularly like the shape of the stainless steel body, it's not simple a cylinder but it has distinct ridges, and I believe If I counted right the shape of the vessel is actually a softly rounded octagonal prism. It looks cool, but it also makes it easier to grip.
Basically, you twist "up" the brewing portion of the cup, place a coffee filter onto it, fill with coffee and do the usual pour over routine and then replace the brewing assembly with a regular travel lid and you're good to go. It works. The coffee turns out well. It's not too messy. It does not leak AT ALL even when I purposefully turn it upside down and shake it (though I personally wouldn't just throw this into a bag unattended, the stopper at the top is just pressure fit in and could be dislodged by accident, though to be fair it takes a pretty good amount of force to pull it open).
So, small complaints (really just feedback). First, I would have liked to see the cup come with an integral reusable coffee filter that you could optionally choose to use. Firstly because you don't always have paper coffee filters around. Secondly, because it's less wasteful. It may not give you as good of a brew since they're not really suitable for making coffee this way (they drain too fast) BUT, there is nothing wrong with giving us options and a backup plan. Second, the size of the cup is too small for me... I get that portability is important here, this is just an observation that this will not be enough coffee for me and I'd have liked it to be bigger. Finally, there are areas you can see through the sides of the brewing top while you're pouring but it's super difficult to actually tell when the cup is getting full - the visibility in there isn't great at least in the lighting I had. Nobody is going to be pouring premeasured amounts of water in, so it would be nice if somehow you could see how full the cup is a bit better than you can right now without having to resort to using a flashlight.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ottimi materiali, grande attenzione nei particolari ed estetica accattivante
The media could not be loaded.
Pienamente promossa.
