Good quality plastic, made in Vietnam, caught a mouse within 48 hours with no bait stolen. 100% cat safe and release was easy. I'm about to order 2 more. Edit: 2 days later and I'm up to 6 mice with this trap.

    I am very familiar with the Victor name when it comes to catching undesirable rodents (think the old school pedal rat trap), but I was not aware they made a live catch mouse trap. My first impression of this trap was that it was very lightweight with a sleek smoked gray finish, but very small. I have used variations of catch and release traps from other brands, and this one is probably half the size.

    The bait is easy to place with the removable rear door, which has a dedicated cup to hold a few nuts or bait of your choice. Setting the trap is easy, by pushing the entrance door until it is supported by the pedal. From there, you leave it in the path of rodents, and check on it everyday until you catch one!

    It was recommended to catch and release the rodents at least two miles away, and to use the removable rear door to safely let the rodent out. I did find the rear door difficult to take on and off initially, but it could just be the initial break-in period as it is held on by two pressure clips. I think this live catch mouse trap is great value for the money from a trusted name in rodent control, but would have difficulty catching bigger mice/voles.

    This transparent, single‑catch trap makes humane rodent control simple and clean. Just add bait to the cup, set the door, and watch — the clear plastic design lets you see a catch instantly. Once the mouse enters, it safely stays inside until you're ready to release it outdoors using the rear door—no touching required.
    Its well constructed and suitable for many uses although its not that expensive and you may prefer just to throw the whole thing out.

    Its very small, but looks like it will work good. I honestly had trouble trying to open the release part though. So if It doesn't open when it catches a mouse, then Sorry buddy jk No I'll figure it out, but they really should come up with a better latch for the release side cause it's very hard to open.

    This is a super simple design that works well. Your fingers will never get snapped and you can sleep well knowing you did the humane* thing.
    The “end door”/release door was really tight the first time I had to remove it, so I might recommend removing it and practicing before you have a mouse in there - because it’s inevitable that a mouse will be in there at some point. The trap works really well - better than the conventional style in my opinion. I’ve had a few mice in there so far, and none have chewed their way through anything.
    I don’t know if I’d call it a tip - maybe a story? I did put it on top of a wall ledge where I’d previously seen mice. It caught a mouse there before, but the second time the trap fell to the ground allowing the mouse to escape - although the trap was fine. In my case I could add a couple screws to make a "wall" that the trap couldn't fall off of anymore. I've also been sure to wash the trap between uses and check and empty it regularly to help deter them from figuring it out.

    *The box recommends re-locating at least 2 miles away. I’m really uncertain if it’s more humane to kill them, or to relocate that far away. I’m also not sure about the legalities (I know in Ontario, we can’t move Skunks or Racoons that far). I’m fairly certain they can find their way back if you relocate them closely. At the end of the day, I know I’d rather have a fighting chance than a crushed neck with the spring traps - so I’m still sleeping OK with my decision.

    I’ve had some success using the this mouse trap in our rental home. It’s effective and the sensitive trigger makes it reliable, even for smaller mice. I appreciate the clear plastic design, which makes it easy to check without opening it.

    The trap is compact and easy to place in tight spots, but still roomy enough to clean and bait without hassle. The humane, catch-and-release design is a big plus. However, the rear release door can be stiff at first, so it’s a good idea to practice opening it to make releasing the mouse less stressful.

    Overall, it’s a lightweight, reusable, and effective option for humane rodent control.
