Vibra-TITE VC-3 Threadmate is a powerful locking and sealing coating for threadedfasteners that works on the principle of "friction through viscosity." It utilizes a special blend of acrylic resins to prevent fasteners from loosening , even under extreme vibration. Designed for use on external and internal threads of virtually any material or finish, Vibra-TITE VC-3 Threadmate dries to the touch within seconds of application. Coated parts are ready for assembly in just a few minutes. Pre-cleaning of parts is not required except for wiping off any visible oil, grease, or dirt for optimal performance. From tiny eyeglass screws to huge construction bolts, ideal for use on fasteners of any size. Vibra-TITE VC-3 Threadmate adheres to both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, most platings, wood, and plastic screws. With exceptional reliability, Vibra-TITE VC-3 Threadmate holds parts in place even during extreme vibration and resists leakage by acting as a dam between mated threads. Using steady pressure and standard hand tools, parts coated with Vibra-TITE VC-3 Threadmate can easily be adjusted, removed, and reused. Shelf life in tube is 5 years from date of manufacture. Shelf life after applied is indefinite. Offers resistance to most solvents. Acts as a partial corrosion barrier. Dries to touch in seconds and Dries for use in minutes. Best achieved using considerable airflow in addition to temperature not exceeding 130 degree F Drying method for bulk production, 5 or more times reusable, moderate engagement torque. no distinct breakaway torque; slow, fluid release as material cold flows. Standard coating length is 1-1/2 times diameter. Thread fill requirement is 30 - 50% of the thread root area. Contains Methyl Ethyl Ketone. 5 mL tube.

VC-3 Applied to Fasteners

How VC-3 Works

Unlike a traditional threadlocker which attempts to fix a fastener solidly in place; VC-3 is a cold flow material which works on the principle of dampening. VC-3 essentially isolates the fastener from the vibration of the assembly, absorbing any intense shock and vibration which keeps the fastener from rotating.

Vibra-Tite VC-3 Threadmate is one of the most versatile threadlockers available on the market. Unlike conventional liquid lockers which cure to form a hard bond, VC-3 is a blend of resins designed to remain flexible and absorb vibration. This unique difference makes VC-3 coated fasteners truly adjustable, removable, and reusable. Great for fasteners ranging from tiny set and eyeglass screws to huge construction bolts.

Pre-Apply to fasteners

Apply VC-3 to parts and let dry. They can then be stored indefinitely until needed for use without performance degradation.

Instructions for Application

Shake well before each use. Apply VC-3 a length of 1 to 1 ½ times the fastener diameter, filling threads 50-100%. Although material will be dry to touch within minutes, allow VC-3 to dry for 10-30 minutes (the longer the better), depending on part size. Fasteners are then ready for assembly or to be stored for later use.

Great for RC and Drone Applications

Why risk destroying your hard work by using a standard threadlocker which could damage plastics, or make fasteners impossible to remove. VC-3 dries onto metal fasteners first, then can be installed into plastic mating parts without causing stress cracking. VC-3 excels at locking when subjected to vibration from small engines and motors due to its shock absorbing characteristics.
