I have been meaning to get one of these vegetable cutters but have hesitated as sometimes it is more of a hassle to use and wash such appliances than to actually just dice the veggies yourself.
I have mixed feelings about this, for that exact reason. While it works great, to me this would be justified only if you are doing large batch cooking and need to chop way too many veggies. In such a case it'll be a lifesaver.
Beyond utility, in terms of how well this works: it comes with many types of blades/choppers. Some work better than others and it also depends on the type of veggie you use on each of the blades. Some are meant for veggies like carrots and potatoes, while others for veggies like cucumbers and zucchini, while others are perfect for onions. My favourite was the square dicing one and the crinkle cut. The crinkle cut was unfortunately a bit too thick for potato chips though (unless you bake in the oven), but it makes for cute veggie platters.
I wish it had come with clearer instructions on the installation of the blades though, because that was not initially super clear and I had to fiddle with it a bit to get it right. I ended up cutting my hand in the process because the blades are sharp and you need to be super careful when handling. This is in fact one of the cons of this tool. Be super careful.
The other negative is that some parts of the plastic are super sharp (some bits sticking out). The plastic strainer also had the side chipped right out of the box (without any use) and it is super sharp in the corner as a result. I am not sure if it is indicative of the quality of the plastic, or something else.
This is a versatile tool -- it can be a tool of daily use for convenience, or just something you use to make nice crinkle-cut for veggie platter, for instance.
