I have two VegTrugs and I replaced the first canopy last year and the second one this year.
These are much than the original frame & canopies and are way better!
There are two large openings on also the long sides there are also two openings on the smaller sides. All of the openings have the mesh covering as well as a more solid greenhouse type covering.
There are two small openings to allow for water irrigation lines. The small openings are on the small side of the canopy where the canopy meets the wood siding of your veg trug.
These new canopies and frames are better than the originals as they are not only higher, but on the base of the canopy, Canal’s have been thrown into the canopy, which allow you to put the frame piping through so this secures the canopy to the frame much better than the old ties it used to be used and if you use a a pipe strap, you’ll be able to fasten the pipes to the actual side of the veg truck securing the canopy frame choose the veg truck so the canopies don’t fly away in wind storms.
I leave the canopies in place all year long. I don’t take them down in winter anymore. I live in southern Ontario. We get snow here. I do have them in more sheltered area of my yard but my canopies over winter well.
The canopies extend the growing season and allow for an earlier planting in the spring. They also keep insects & veg predators out.
I got my first veg truck six years ago and I love them ❤️
