    Re-watching this wonderful comedic series! I loved it the first time I watched it and I still do. My favourite comic series of all time! Julia Louis-Dreyfus was always my favourite Seinfeld character (Elaine), in my opinion the funniest. She's even funnier in this series as the lead character. It is supposed to be a satire of Washington politicos, conniving politicians and their obsequious pandering operatives. It is very much is that, a crazy depiction of situations and interactions. I offer this as a complement, not as a criticism. When I watched the series the first time I thought it was very funny albeit an over-the-top depiction of Washington politics. Now, in retrospect I was probably wrong and the series is actually a far more accurate depiction of today's Washington scene. No matter what your political bent may be, real Washington is a partisan clown show..

    Man muss sich wohl schon sehr mit dem U.S. amerikanischen Politbetrieb beschäftigt haben, um diese Serie voll geniessen zu können. Denn allzu befremdlich kamen mir etliche der dort gezeigten Politrituale vor, die hier aufs Korn genommen werden. Auch erschien mir Alles etwas zu hektisch. Fast schon im Sekundentakt hetzt man von Gag zu Gag, von denen mich leider nur wenige amüsieren konnten. Vielleicht dachten sich die Autoren, die Gag-Masse machts, da wird schon für jeden etwas dabei sein.

    Als eher durchwachsen empfand ich auch die schauspielerischen Leistungen: Julia ist natürlich herausragend gut. Mit ihrem wunderbaren, komödiantischen Talent stemmt sie die Serie praktisch im Alleingang. Und Ihr alleine gebühren auch all die Sterne, die ich hier vergebe. Umso blasser wirken dagegen die restlichen Akteure, deren Charaktere einfach nicht ausgefeilt genug sind. Im Grund genommen sind sie halt ausnahmslos gleichermassen unsympathische, kriecherische Emporkömmlinge ohne die geringste individuelle Eigenschaft. Damit sind sie beliebig austauschbar und im Nachhinein wusste ich kaum zu sagen, wer dieser Flitzpiepen nun was gesagt oder getan hatte. Was auch für den Fortgang der Geschichten vollkommen egal war, da sich diese Serie halt aussschliesslich auf Julia (die Veep) konzentriert.

    Es posible que mi opinión está mediatizada por el error de etiquetado de los discos. Empecé viendo el cuarto capítulo y cuando terminé el disco y cambié al siguiente me encontré con el primero.
    Para empezar esto no es "The West Wing" el guión es más pobre. Los escenarios se repiten. Las situaciones tienen una gracia limitada (Lo mejor los juegos de palabras difícilmente traducibles) Los actores se defienden pero tienen poco personaje que rellenar. Una pena. Esperaba mas.
