The belt is good, easy to adjust and the multiple padded grips work well. It’s a nice size and fits well for men. I would’ve given a 5 stars, however after only 5-6 use the plastic buckle broke.

    We bought this for my Mom who is 78. She said it was comfortable, and made standing up far easier. Also love the handle on the back to grab on to. She is a plus size lady and it fit 2xl on the smallest setting so it could probably accommodate up to 5xl quite nicely. If you have an aging parent who has mobility issues this belt is a lovely, durable investment.

    I was looking for a way to help my elderly father, who has weak legs and sometimes needs assistance getting up. I got this transfer belt so there are some handles for us to help him up safely. The multiple handles make it easier to provide support from different angles, and the belt feels sturdy during use.

    - Plenty of handles for a secure grip from different positions
    - Adjustable fit to accommodate different body sizes
    - Quick-release buckle makes it easy to put on and remove
    - Sturdy material that holds up well with regular use

    This transfer belt can be useful when transitioning adults with disability. It makes it much safer than just holding onto their clothing. The belt is adjustable to fit a wide variety of sizes but I found that it might be still too large for some that are petite.
    It is overall well built and sturdy.

    This product is a great improvement over the gait belt the physical therapist gave me. That gait belt was a length of seat belt webbing with a seat belt buckle on the end. This works, but grabbing a person by the belt is as awkward and uncomfortable as it sounds. The belt needed to be high on the chest as well. I think I was using it right.
    With this product, the belt can be around the waist. It is rather like a wrestling trophy belt in that way. The wide part of the belt does not need to be in front; it would make more sense to put the wide part in the back so you can catch the person if they fall forward. There are comfortable horizontal and vertical handles to grab. You have better control of the person. You could catch them if they start to fall. You could get them off the ground without pulling on an arm. Two people could lift a person. Two people could move a person. I'm not sure if the person would feel any discomfort if they were on their back and the belt were left on.
    Some of the merchant's illustrations suggest that there are handles all around. This is not so. There is one very good illustration that shows there are handles in broad side of the belt and on the sides, but no handle on one side with the buckle.
    The belt connects using a mechanism you will recognize from suitcases. There are familiar slides to adjust the length, insert tab into plastic buckle to connect, and press sides for a quick release. I expect that if any part were to break, it would be the plastic buckle. I think even the buckle will hold up.

    This is a mostly very well-made gait belt, ideal for use with someone who is semi-ambulatory and is able to assist with transfers. I would not suggest using it to carry the whole weight of someone who is exceptionally heavy and/or can't assist with transfers, as the plastic buckle is, of course, its weak point. Even though the buckle itself is unlikely to break (though of course that's possible, too), the bigger risk is that if it isn't 100% securely latched, it can suddenly let loose. This is a known issue with this type of buckle; either it doesn't get fully latched to begin with (this can happen even when one is an experienced caregiver) or the clips get squeezed with an accidental grab directly on the buckle. In any case, it's prudent to be aware of this and use caution with quick-release belts of this type.

    With that said, this belt is perfect for transfers and assisted walking with a person I care for on a daily basis. The handles are solidly attached and comfortable to hold on to, and there are plenty of them!

    I am scheduled to have a surgery where I will not be allowed to engage my core muscles afterwards. I've tested out whether this belt will work or not for me. It's easy to put on and pull me up from a mostly lying down position. It's also fairly comfortable to lie down with. As comfortable as it can be, it isn't perfect. It works for me and what I need it for. A transfer board would probably get me up easier or a chuck with handles, but I find both of those extremely uncomfortable to use in comparison to this belt. I put it on with the clip in back, so I'm not lying on a handle, and that was the most comfortable. I'm looking forward to using this to make recovery easier.

    My sister recently came home after surgery, and as part of her rehab, she needs to walk with supervision several times a day. This gait support belt has been exactly what we needed.

    Instead of holding her by the arms—which can be awkward and uncomfortable for both of us—I can now use the built-in handles on the belt to guide and support her more safely and comfortably. It gives both of us more confidence during her walks.

    It also makes lifting or steadying her much easier, especially when getting up from a seated position. The belt is well made, supportive, and practical.

    I'm really glad I found this—it's made a big difference in her recovery routine. Highly recommend it for anyone assisting a loved one during rehab.
