Wow! This Gothic Vampire Castle from Mavo Brix (identified as Free Tribe on the box logo) delivers an absolutely stunning build. The amount of detail incorporated into this set is truly astounding.
This model is very heavily inspired by the Bricklink Designer Program's Adventure In Transylvania. If you admire that look but prefer not to spend the cash for the BDP version, this Mavo Brix castle is, by far, a superb alternative well worth checking out. I was genuinely astonished by the quality; it felt like I was building something from the leading brick brand! The pieces themselves were flawless, resembling the quality of the leading brand, with perfect colour consistency, no scuffs or scratches on any of the parts, and an amazing clutch. I didn't notice any strange connections or questionable building techniques. The completed structure is very well supported and remarkably sturdy. I am truly amazed!
And it is HUGE. I used one of my own minifigures in the photos simply to illustrate its sheer size. The build offers exceptional display flexibility, it can be fully opened up or closed to create a complete enclosure. Either way you choose to show it off, it remains absolutely stunning. Did I mention this thing is stunning? Even the box art is beautifully printed, showcasing the finished model on an iridescent finish that positively glimmers.
The instructions were easy to follow. They utilized small steps and numbered bags, which helped tremendously. That said, I do wish the build had been broken down even further for each section, as some required a lot of table space and sometimes led to longer search times for specific pieces. However, the instructions were excellent overall, especially with the helpful feature of having each new step in full saturation while the previously completed steps were lightened. This makes the very large 3,500+ piece set much less daunting. Watching the magnificent structure emerge with each completed step was spectacular.
The finished build is exceptional, featuring so many intricate Gothic details on the exterior and glossy finishes on the interior, complete with fun hidden details and custom-moulded pieces like the chair, the mirror, and the table. It is also fully compatible with the leading brick brand. This set is genuinely a masterpiece in design and technique, showcasing many interesting uses of parts.
And the value you receive for this set is incredible. At approximately 3.9 cents per piece, considering the high level of detail, quality, and inclusion of custom-moulded pieces, this is an absolute steal! Do not hold off on purchasing this set, it is as impressive of a build as it looks! Honestly, run, don't walk, and get this set!
