I would take a sharp kitchen knife and saw through the seal just under the rim of the cap until I hit glass. I knew if I slipped, I would seriously cut myself.     I’ve had a number of other foil cutters. Edgy in particular. My old one was worn out and first purchased another Edgy. It fell apart in about 2 weeks. Cheaply made. So, I gave Vinvoli a try. The whole thing is a cutting edge. Works extremely well. No cutting wheels to fall apart. It cuts everything neatly from heavy French foil to some of the light plastic foils. A good buy for the price too!
