Viltrox AF 40mm f/2.5 E is compatible with Sony FE, the aperture range is F2.5 to F16. It uses STM motor + lead screw to achieve autofocus. The minimum focusing distance is 0.34m, and the magnification is 0.14X, it uses a 52mm filter, the size is 167g only, it is lighter than an iPhone 15 Pro.

    Pour son prix, le Viltrox 40mm peut convenir à ceux qui font des photos statiques, mais dès qu’on le pousse un peu, ses limites deviennent évidentes.

    ✅ Les points positifs :
    • Prix abordable
    • Construction solide en métal
    • Compact et léger
    • Piqué correct au centre (mais pas exceptionnel)
    • Vignettage modéré, facilement corrigeable en post-prod
    • Rendu des couleurs légèrement contrasté, ce qui peut plaire selon le style recherché

    ❌ Les points négatifs :
    • Autofocus lent et hésitant, surtout en mouvement
    • Déformation très marquée dès qu’on bouge un peu
    • Piqué décevant, surtout sur les bords de l’image
    • Bokeh un peu nerveux, pas des plus agréables

    Si tu cherches un objectif pas cher pour des plans fixes, il peut faire l’affaire. Mais pour de la photo dynamique ou de la vidéo, il est clairement en retrait face à des alternatives comme le Sony 40mm f/2.5 G.

    Buen objetivo 40mm para llevar de paseo, ligero, muy nítido y el anillo de enfoque es bastante más suave que el del 20mm que por lo menos en mi copia va durísimo y con sensación de poder romperse.

    El motor de enfoque va bien, aunque parece que en condiciones de poca luz se vuelve bastante más lento especialmente si la cámara está inclinada en ángulo mirando hacia abajo como si el peso de las lentes le pasará factura al motor (raro por que el objetivo no pesa prácticamente nada, así que las lentes deberían pesar nada también).

    Entre el 40mm y el nuevo 50mm f2 no puedo opinar por qué no tengo el segundo, pero si que puedo recomendar el 40mm para salir a la calle y llevar un conjunto que pese poco y con un ángulo de visión bastante agradecido de cara a la fotografía callejera o documental.

    Repito que la sensación del anillo de enfoque es muchísimo mejor que en mi copia del 20mm, en su momento no lo devolví y viendo que el 40mm tiene un anillo de enfoque mucho más suave me da rabia que mi 20mm no lo tenga igual.
