Finally, a replacement battery that works! This is the third different brand that I have tried for the Dyson V8. The previous other two batteries all died within the first week of having them. This one is now just past two weeks and is still going strong. The battery itself is the same shape and weight as the original battery, so no worries though. This particular battery included a small screwdriver to help with changing the battery. Yes, I already have a screwdriver, but didn't need to hunt it down for the swap and now this one has gone into the battery box since it's always nice to have a small screwdriver on hand for all of the toys that that have screw-locked battery compartments! We are pleased with this battery and have had no issues with is so far.

It’s a bit soon to know much about the battery itself. It fits perfectly in my Dyson V8 animal and required only a few minutes to remove the old battery and put the new one in. The packaging contains no instructions on the install procedure but the product page on amazon does have a detailed rundown on what you need to do. Included with the battery were 3 screws (I reused the old ones so I didn’t these) a screwdriver and a 1 page generic “manual” on Power Tool Battery Use. The info on the 1-pager (well technically it’s really 1/2 page since it’s small and only one side is in English. The other side is in German interestingly enough). Charged the battery overnight and tried it out. It works and at 4500mAh it should last longer the original v8 battery from Dyson which is rated at 2800mAh. On thick pile the v8 struggles a bit with the new battery but until it’s gone through a few more charge cycles it’s hard to know if this is just a break-in issue. Unless it gets worse I would not consider this a serious problem. I’ll update this review if something changes dramatically in this regard.

All of the above was relevant to the 2nd battery I received. The first battery was not the 4500mAh battery I ordered but rather a 4000mAh battery. I have to give props to the customer service at the seller. I sent them a message through �鶹�� customer service and they immediately set about putting it right by sending out the correct battery which I received 1 business day after notifying them. Unclear why the wrong battery arrived but I believe �鶹�� is actually the one responsible for order fulfillment and last-mile delivery so this could well have been no fault of the seller. It was corrected with no hassle in any event which is always a relief when something goes a little wrong.

I hesitate to remark on Battery Life because the product is so new to us. It has significantly more power than the old battery. And, it lasts a long time, with an equally long initial charge time. The battery seems to provide more current than the original battery based on the motor sound. I have noticed that the exhaust air seems more heated than with the original battery so I recommend taking breaks for both the human using it and the motor driving it.
