Directions

Wash your hands thoroughly before use. Lie on your back with bent knees, or stand with your knees bent. Suppositories are inserted into the vagina like a tampon. Using your middle finger gently insert (1) suppository as far as it will comfortably go into your vagina, aiming towards your lower back. Alternatively, an applicator can be used. Utiva Suppository Applicators available separately. We recommend using Utiva Yeast Balance at bedtime as vaginal suppositories can leak as they dissolve. You might want to wear a panty liner to absorb any discharge. Wash your hands thoroughly after insertion.

These boric acid capsule suppositories are meant to restore your PH balance and kill yeast. Unfortunately this product does not come with an applicator, which in my opinion is required for proper placement of the suppository. Before using however, you may need an applicator, PH strips and pads for use with the product.

    Used many types of boric acid capsules and this is the first time the capsule did not dissolve once inserted. This happened several times. Makes me wonder if I am getting the full dose. Product did not come with an applicator so had to apply with my fingers.

    This product is never one that women want to use but when the time comes to need it, it is invaluable. I would say that the biggest thing missing with these is an applicator to ensure that you get this to where it needs to be physically. As with any suppository, it is advisable to use a pad to catch any 'fallout'. It works as expected, for the most part and the length of time for treatment is very much dependent on how severe your situation is. This is never pleasant, hope it works for you!

    I was surprised an applicator was not included with this product, found it awkward inserting with my finger. Used as prescribed however the capsules did not dissolve properly and found they were around longer than expected. Will not be using again.......

    Such a simple way of getting your pH balance back on track. These suppositories are easy to insert, however, if you want to be sure it’s placed deep enough an applicator comes in handy. Luckily I always have one on hand because of my HRT so that made it easier for me. For about 10 days I inserted one suppository before bed. I would recommend wearing a liner just in case there’s some leakage.

    How quickly relief is felt will no doubt depend on the severity. For me I would say I started to notice less symptoms after about three days. I continued for 10 days so I could be sure the pH was back to normal levels. Fortunately I have test strips so there’s no guess work.

    This is such an easy way to get your pH back in balance.

    Well, sometimes, regular medicine is not enough, and we need to go back to 16th-century remedies.
    When fluconazole does not work, boric acid is prescribed by a doctor.
    It is exactly what it is: a chemical that kills yeast.
    It is provided as a powder in capsules; and this is quite inconvenient to use.
    But it works, as body fluids dissolve the organic shell, so we are good.

    Pros:
    - it works

    Cons:
    - somewhat inconvenient to use

    All in all, I can recommend this product.

    They come in capsule form which seemed odd to me but they weren't too big. They were not uncomfortable either. The hardest thing was getting it in far enough. Maybe an applicator should be included? There was some leakage overnight but a panty liner had been recommended on the instructions so I was prepared. They seemed to work okay for mild symptoms.
