This is a nice little kit for repairing upholstery, carpet, belts, tents, and possibly other items that are not the usual weak seam on a paif of jeans, or buttons missing from pajamas. Every component of the kit works as it is supposed to. The stitch rippers are sharp; the small, spring-action scissors are like razors; the needle assortment is really practical; the thread spools are generous, and cover many standard upholstery colours; the two small awls are sharp, with handles that allow for a secure grip; even the measuring tape is made from pliable plastic instead of being paper, as is often the case in small sewing kits. I had a small gap in the stitching on one of the loveseat cushions. Using this kit, I was able to repair it in about five minutes. I chose the sailmaker's needle, and about half way through, I realized that one of the curved needles would have worked more smoothly, but I was still able to create a satisfactory mend.
