We have a beloved and faithful 25-year-old John Deere 345 lawn tractor that is in like new condition except for one fault, the original seat foam insulation and exterior cover have slowly shrunken and separated from the seat frame shell over time. The seat is still usable, but not as stable or visually appealing. There are no rips or tears in the actual seat, and sending the entire unit to the landfill, plus the cost of purchasing a new full seat replacement, seemed wasteful.

The LP92334 John Deere seat cover option provided a perfect solution. The first step was to firmly duct tape the existing seat cushion and back to the frame. This stabilized the seat from wiggling around while using. The duct tape used is not visible underneath the new seat cover.

The fabric used for the LP92334 seat cover is quite thick, somewhat like old-style canvas, and appears robust and capable of many years of continued service. The comfort of the seat cover is actually more desirable than the original because it is not as slippery (useful when mowing slopes, etc.) and also somewhat insulated against seasonal extreme hot and cold temperature differences. Aesthetically, the product colors are excellent John Deere replicas, fitting in perfectly with the rest of the machine.

The best way to make the seat useable after a few years in the Florida sun. Repair torn padding and vinyl Seat erosion with strong tape and install the cover. It stabilizes the whole seat to almost new firmness. Plus it greatly improves the appearance. When the tractor is eventually replaced covering the new seat will greatly increase its useable lifetime.
